Susie has returned in some shape of form. There were after all only so many days I could be detained in hospital wearing what can only be described as a shapless blue sheath not dissimilar to those paper tablecloths you laid out for BBQ’s. Strangely, I’m pumped with energy, the idea of sleep repulses me and therefore back to blog! (Just a wee note: If you have sent me emails, I’m not ignoring them but am slowly working my way through them – five days is a LOT to plough through so patience my friends….)
Catching up on a week’s worth of fashion haps will be impossible but I did want to remind any Londoners who like super-dooper nice vintage that Decades, a name I think I need not write too much of an introduction (well ok…. THE upper crust vintage store based in LA), will be bringing their wares across the pond and showcasing for two days at Dover Street Market in conjunction with a private preview of Philips de Pury and Company’s upcoming Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva. Decades does have a teensy weensy consignment at Dover Street Market but this will be chance to see a bigger range including the likes of these…
I just can’t stop perving on all the Alaia stock they seem to have according to their daily arrivals blog. The genius contouring simply floors me.
Then there’s this couture gown by a designer I’m not familiar with but Decades gives a very helpful bit of insight on 80’s-90’s couturiers Lecoanet Hemant. The bust looks like it’s organic and still sort of growing – me loves.
For some strange reason, this Gianni Versace scarf minidress is pulling me in. It should be tacksville but hey the whole 90’s tacky riche look has a certain allure.
So ok…. I can’t ACTUALLY afford Decades prices but a gander or two won’t hurt and it is always great to see an abundance of Alaia in the flesh…

good morning! glad you’re better and looking beautiful ^,^
Welcome back Miss Bubble. I missed you.
Glad to hear you’re better!
Yes, very glad to see you’re back as well! Did you see that girl on facehunter awhile back in that great Alaia’ish red dress? I love the way she was pulling it off, I would have loved to see what shoes she was wearing!
This was the date/place it’s posted on:
LONDON – boombox, hoxton square bar and kitchen, 04/08/07
Good to know you’re back, Susie..hope the hospital wasn’t too bad.
Oddly, I’ve heard of Lecoanet Hemant before, but that’s probably only because one half of the duo behind it was Indian and the press in this country hyped it a bit- I remember some jazz about their designing some girl’s outfit for some debutante ball in France about five years back. I’m not quite sure I like that red gown though- it’s got a lovely colour, but the shape doesn’t exactly look too good to me, though the back of the dress does.
dear sussie

While in my favorite cheep cheeeep thrift store yesterday I noticed a pair of bright orange skinny jeans tacked to the wall behind the counter.
OH OF COURSE. Bright orange Versace skinny jeans. For $25 I considered, except they were definitely not my size.
