Having had the unfortunate/fortunate experience of living across Selfridges during university (don’t ask me why the hell UCL decided to put dorms across from Selfridges…I spent a year buying apples for ¬£1.50 each from their food hall….), let’s just say I knew that store pretty damn well. The newbie store assistants that would arrive, the most fanciable shop assistants, the unhelpful shop assistants, the really well-dressed shop assistants. I was told that a photo had to be submitted when applying for a position which explains why they are all impossibly attractive. However, unique dress sense is not something I’ve seen encouraged/demonstrated at Selfridges with everyone seeminly sticking to a certain seasonal formula (for guys=low v cardis, skinny jeans, brogues, for girls=smock dresses, ballet flats) or else wearing an ensemble from whatever label they worked for.
However, whilst browsing in menswear section (of all places!), my eye was caught by a flash of vibrant forest green silk. Georgia here helpfully found an Unconditional t-shirt the boyf was looking in a small but it was her outfit that made me swoon. Fitted, immaculately tailored, with a 40’s twist and a brooch, the green silk dress is a beaut. Paired with gold Dries Van Noten shoes and Vivienne Westwood necklace, the touches were just right. In the sea of indenti-kit dressing and trends, the ones that do their own thing become even more apparent.

I love those dries shoes. I came incredibly close to getting a similar pair from that season but in the end opted for some louboutin’s.
Anyway i know you’ve said it before but you do NOT need to submit a photo. I applied once and was offered an interview for a personal stylist position and never submitted a photo. I couldn’t make the interview in the end but still.
She is indeed adorable. Fabulous hair and shoes!
love the shoes.
I’m surprised you were allowed to take photos in there?

She looks adorable – I agree with you, it’s so refreshing to see someone working an actual individual look.
Gorgeous – the green, with the gold, really suit her. What a beauty!
