All slicked up

Psst…. I’m on a bit of a incognito eBay sex shop raid at the moment, buying garments from rather unsavoury sellers but fear not!  It’s not me indulging in my inner Dita Von Teese but an experimentation that I will share with you all very soon. 

I think by now all the autumn 07-8 trend round-ups have landed in all magazines and they will have all certainly included S&M, bondage or at least the abundance of PVC, plasticky fabrics.  However, what to do if it’s all a bit tight and a bit ‘Oh dear…. are those my thighs squelching again?’  I’m not usually into labels that pigeon hole themselves into lolita-esque, cutesy, pinup type boxes (think you have heard that all before….) but I love what Chelsea Rebelle, a label from New Zealand has come up with for their autumn 07-8 collection entitled ‘I’d rather die a maid.’  Ok, so you get the maid stylings that could be too far gone into kinky but patent leather coming in babydoll dresses, big poofy sleeves and even those high waisted jeans….. it’s gratuitously faddy I know but I’m really feeling it. 

The poofy patent sleeves, in particular, I can imagine all sorts of outfit uses, adding that emergency party trick punch to an otherwise basic outfit.  I haven’t yet gone super high-waisted like the rest of London (I’m a slow-mo who can’t be arsed to try on high-waisted jeans/shorts though I have toyed with the idea…)… but perhaps if I do, I could go into the deep end and procure them in this black patent… why do things in halves when I can buy into a shape in my favourite shiny finishes after all…. 

If being clad in black patent is not your thing, Chelsea Rebelle do make lovely LBD’s as well…  less of the ‘Oooh…that is slick and shiny-tastic!’ and more of the ‘Oooh… you look chic and elegant!’
