The other dress

I ain’t gonna lie.  I was incredibly lucky to be able to be able to borrow not one but two dresses for the Gucci event from the lovely Emilio de la Morena and though I opted for the mustard and purple, I did have a bit of a hard time choosing between the two.  Not so much the ‘reject’ option but it really came down to the fact that the colours of the chosen dress suited me a little better and the shape of the tulle was more intricately arranged on the other dress.  Plus, M.I.A. pulled off the orange and blue number much better than I would in the internet issue of i-D.  Still, it was such a thrill to try them both on and to see Emilio’s work up close.  I shamelessly name-dropped him wherever I could because countless number of people asked me who my dress was by.  Just hope I didn’t do it in that annoying and smug way when people say ‘It’s VINT-age’.

  1. What a fantastic dress, although I totally agree with you and think the mustard and purple suited you better. You still look great though – I reckon you should nab them!

  2. you did the right choice! i think this one can’t be compared with the purple one (find the tulle a bit strange here). you looked like an award-winning celeb or something!

  3. Both are amazing dresses, but you definitely went with the right choice with the mustard and purple!

  4. This one is just as beautiful as well but the previous one was THE one for you! You should def get em’!

  5. it is lovely but i must say that the mustard and purple looked smashing on you. you totally pulled that one off….you goregous gorgeous girl.

  6. This dress is lovely too, but I agree the mustard and purple dress definitely had the IT factor (and you looked sexy in it…which is a very different look from the one you usually go for with your outfits). Kudos to Emilio and his team, though- you looked gorgeous!

  7. oh! just based on the picture, i thought this was another one of your DIY projects!! that’s a credit to your DIY skill, BTW, cos this dress is fabulous! however, i think you made the right choice with the mustard/purple.
anyway, can’t wait to see the new outfit with the fascinator!

  8. The mustard/purple suited you much better on every level. This one didn’t highlight your body as well (and I must confess to showing friends your Gucci pic, so marvelous did you look; the reactions unanimously were, “Oh, I would KILL for her figure! I’m never going to eat again!” and this included my mother)and the colors were not as outstanding.

  9. Mustard one was better. Both so gorgeous. Very you. I’m glad you’re showing your face these days, you are absolutely beautiful.

  10. youre such a cute girl with great fashion sense, but PLEASE stand up straight. you would look so much better in your clothes and pics. i just cant get over your slouching posture

  11. it’s a bit surprising… how this and the mustard dress were made by the same man. the production of this dress(cute idea nonetheless) seems a bit amateurish whereas the mustard was straight gold!

  12. thank god u didn’t pick this one….it’s quite ugly actually =.= hate the colours

  13. hiii,,greetings from indonesia
