Whilst Chloe Sevigny’s ‘Ask Chloe’ column in British Elle (surpassing British Vogue on superior style these days, non?) hasn’t really floated by boat, I am still stumped/floored/any other foot-related verb by the shoes that Chloe wears in this Elle shot that flanks her column.
Then I in turn get stumped by the fact that I haven’t yet written about Natacha Marro and her wonderfully curvy platformed shoes. I was probably waiting for her site to launch because previously, she was associated with House of Harlot, a site that will only appeal to a select few here I’m guessing, with whom they share the same 90 Holloway Road address which is so close to me it’s almost criminal I haven’t made it down there myself.
What’s even worse is that i distinctly remember Daphne Guinness citing House of Harlot shoes as a personal favourite of hers and she’s been spotted wearing that signature rounded chunky platform on quite a few occasions. So definitely a slap on Susie’s wrists for not writing about Marro sooner.
My taste doesn’t normally veer towards the burlesque, the retro, the pin-up. Actually, the thought of me dressed up in burlesque gear either is a highly hilarious one. The thing that draws me to Marro’s shoes is the slightly cartoonish quality about them. So shiny, so round, so high…just very very SO! It’s doubtful that I’d ever wear them with fishnets and a winky smile but with a grey tri-blend racerback (there is NOTHING not to like about grey tri-blend anything…), some skinny button up black leggings, the shoes might end up shining out as great shoes as opposed to great stripper shoes.

I have to admit… those bright blue shoes and the white shoes with the black bows are TOTALLY my style and I know right now exactly what I would wear with them…
I know there’s no way I would be able to walk let alone stand still balanced in those shoes but I have an irrational urge to buy them and just stare at them…they’re so fantastic!
I love them all! Specially the red and blue ones. So cute!
those gold booties are out of this world!!
Gorgeous!
Drooooolingly gorgeous!! Though (sigh) I know that they would not be made with my little feet in mind.
On another note entirely did you get the mail I sent you about the Lacroix sandals for LaRedoute?
No i didn’t…my hotmail can be funny though…send it again!
yum… those red brogues are lush… definitely workable outside the stripper bar…
Just bought this months Elle this evening and having a flick through those shoes were one of the first things I noticed. Thanks for letting me know where they come from.
i think it’s the high arch and turn up toes that makes them so cute, i love the bright blue with red ribbon
Those gold wedges are crying to come home and live with me. I hear their plaintive wails.
Hee hee – they’re only stripper heels if you’re a stripper! That reminds me… must get the curvy platforms out of storage.
OMG I want the shoes
I have written twice about Natacha Morro shoes but, hmph, I get no credit.
Is it because I hate Chloe Sevigny with the burning intensity of 1000 suns?
Mmmmm yum, the yellow!
I like the white and black ones. I wouldn’t mind giving those a shot with a black fishnet stocking and a gray button down prim and proper suit (pencil-skirt kissing the knee), possibly with a white high-neck ruffle-collard blouse underneath.
Old school marm chic!
Hmm classiest stripper heels I’ve seen thus far..I like the whiskey colored ones.
Very hot shoes. Though they are more works of art, than wearable, I would definitely buy these just to prance around in my room with. I’d love to pair those white ones with the prissiest librarian outfit ever – it would turn boring into sexy!
I totally agree with you, i can see the shoes with the leggings, the racerback vest and a little capelet (i seem to be yearning for winter recently).

love love the black + white pair! x
I think I may have the [La Redoute] Christian Lacroix shoes to which you refer, missmilki. I don’t think I could walk more than a few steps in them but I do love to gaze lovingly upon them!!!
Sister Wolf: All credit goes to you….
Pixie_Chi: Think it was Floraposte who wanted those shoes… will tell her that!
Flatbrokefab Ashleigh: yes, definitely need the capelet…. it’s not that warm here so capelet wearing is still possible…
For some reason, i get the feeling these shoes would be quite comfortable… don’t know why…. something about the deceptively curved toe.
Hey,
I can actually confirm that the shoes that Natacha makes are not only gorgeous but also very comfortable 🙂 Had a pleasure to try a couple of them on as I know Natacha (will start saving for the shoes as soon as I move to London 😀
woooooowww… like very much, but some of them are very Westwood, no?. Not that that’s a bad ting….
Yay, now I feel special and important! Thank you, Miss Bubble! xo
I can confirm that Natacha Marro shoes are comfortable and very wearable – she makes to measure so whether you are big or small they will fit like a dream.
I can run for the bus in mine!
i love them!
I’m going to jump on the gold wedge bandwagon. Those are superb!
I love those bright blue shoes and the white shoes with the black bows. Fabolous.
