Stamp geek alert here! I didn't think my stint at Stanley Gibbons during my uni days would rear its head but it sort of has in the form of this special issue of Finnish stamps where they have chosen five fashion designers from Finland to grace this set of stamps. One of them is Finsk designed by Julia Lundsten who has put their standout S/S 09 grey fish skin two-part heel shoe (the black version is available from Labour of Love) on the stamp. Come 6th May when a Special Collector's pack of these stamps comes out, I'm sure some other uni student earning extra funds stock checking at Stanley Gibbons will be filing these away…
Finsk's S/S 09 Collection – As per usual has different woods, different finishes with unexpected colour combinations that always come off looking completely natural and unforced. I always love how portions of the wood is treated to paint finishes to keep the graphic angular lines flowing in each shoe.
These shoes are so pretty and they look comfortable as well as practical.. Great post Susie
How is it that the Finnish do design so well? – Pretty much all the Scandanavians – I love that paired down geometric coolness – probably comes from too many years in architecture school. That top pair of shoes are just perfect! But I’d wear take any of them!;)
Those structural heels are unreal…

OMG Susie, I’m love!

Those first shoes are just so pretty, and I have to admit, having gone through a stamp collecting phase (all the fault of the Beano) at about age 8, I may just have to try and get hold of those stamps ;-D so cute!

I have a thing for wooden heels/wedges. I think it is after studying woodwork, I can convince myself it is a bit of craftsmanship rather than more frivolous spending.
those shoes are incredible !!!!
All of those shoes are superb! That stamp is adorable. My grandma and dad are both avid stamp collectors, I wonder what they would say if they saw this one . . .
what would I give to receive a letter stamped with that? those are super cool. x
oh wow! those shoes – gray fishskin platforms? i don’t love the other color/wood combinations, but somehow…yes, yes, please! best shoes i’ve seen in months!
if only they’d include a few stamps with purchase.
(the boutique you linked to is also super cute. i’m tempted by the LERARIO BEATRIZ Sequin Shorts… they look *very* fun!)
oh wow! i live in finland!! :p where do they sell those stamps?? haha i want to buy a dozen of them 8)
oh love your blog…exchange links?
I never thought I’d say this, but I think the stamp nerd inside me just woke up.. 😀

I would happily own each and every pair of those shoes…stunning
Great that you found Julia Lundsten, i’ve been her fan for ages (i’m from Finland too). It’s 6th of May when they’re publishing those stamps, i can’t wait for that day (http://www.posti.fi/english/current/2009/20090415_stamps.html)!
A very nice posting Susie, and thanks for giving a comment:).
