Double Table Top

DSC_0008 Rental furniture can be a curious/dodgy lot.  I have a brown pleather sofa that gets hot and sticky when you sit on it, a bed that serves no purpose as a divan since it's got no drawers built in and then this dining table that for some reason has two table tops, one glass top and a lower pleather covered second top.  I was semi-excited when I first saw it seeing as I stupidly thought it might heat up so I could keep plates warm there.  Nope…it's just a decorative non-entity that I've since used to drape fashion magazines open so diners at my flat have been staring down at Lara Stone's nipples whilst tucking into roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.  I did a bit of shifty shifty today to see whether it might serve as an accessories display case as my junk is now getting to ridiculously overspill proportions…

This way, people can pilfer stuff from my accessories pick n' mix quite easily should they feel like reliving days of shoplifting at Woolworths (I swear I TOTALLY forgot that that Christmas bauble was in my pocket!).

  1. I prefer vivienne westwood melissa’s than to lara stones’ nipples 🙂
    xx-LJ from SOS!

  2. this is a really really cool idea with the table. I’d always make a mini exhibition of something that changes every month 😀

  3. I love that! I used to set up little displays on shelves in my bedroom when I was about 11 or 12 – at that time my dream job was to set up window displays in fancy shops! I would have loved a table like this! 🙂

  4. oooh this is like playing i spy!
    i spy…
    – mahjong!
    – nice to see your old crow headband making a reappearance after so long
    – your mui muis and the bottom of your Sam Edelman boots. how on earth do you manage to keep your shoes in such good condition?! i know that you must have worn those boots snd mui muis hundreds of times but still there’s barely any scuffing. i have no idea what i do, but i totally destroy my shoes. The soles peel off, the bottom of the heels are pretty much decimated and i recently discovered that the side of the wedge on one of my favourite wedge heels is MISSING A CHUNK. urgh i dont think i can buy nice shoes anymore since i pretty much annihilate them…
    – on the topic of not buying shoes… where on earth can i get those amazing violet cut-out flats? they make me feel all fluttery…

  5. Looks fab!! like an accessories table at my dream shop. though – I would be worried that things would get a bit dusty or get knocked over…thats why I keep my favourite things wrapped up in a cupboard.
ps who knows a set of mah-jong looks decorative and cool with your fashion accessories?!

  6. Nothing could be more addictive to hoard than accessories… can’t have enough of them and I seriously adore your collection!

  7. I love it! A fashion exhibit curated by Susie Bubble. I hope you’ll make it a regular feature.

  8. wow that is ingenius! i need something like this for the same purpose. things don’t get worn nearly as much as they should all hiddden in various drawers and in my closet.

  9. (posted before finishing my comment)

  10. Oh, I love these tables!
When I move out I’m so going to get one, just something I can change anytime I wish to suit my mood!

  11. i’m admiring all your amazing shoes, knick knacks and accessories.
i really really like this idea. it’s so cute.

  12. I love the shoes, specially the purple and blue ones! Looks cool, that would look great with summer dresses or short pants. Love it! 🙂

  13. It looks so awesome and I want to love it, I really really do! But all I can think about it my mum screaming in horror “dont put shoes on the table!” and frankly, it frightens me! Love Tor x

  14. I’m with Tor’s mum – don’t you know it’s terribly bad luck to put shoes on the table?!
I’m not all that superstitious, but that one stuck with me – must be because it’s shoe-related…
