I kid you not, the title of this post was something some dude said very loudly in a quasi-Jamaican accent as I was strolling by on Holloway Road. Oh the characters that come by N7's way. You can't do it justice with typed words and you just had to be there to fully experience the bubbly effect. A perhaps less hilarious but equally rewarding bubbling experience would be Kostas Murkudis' A/W 09 collection.
i want to know a) how he got his bubbles to be so BIG and STURDY looking. Essential for a bubble lover like myself of course. And b) how comfortable is that plastic/PVC type material against the skin seeing as Murkudis has used quite a bit of it whilst making it look ever so enticing. Actually, I think I've answered my own question seeing as undergarments are clearly in order thus eliminating much of the sweaty plastic issue. Perspiration issues aside, I'm intrigued by the way it contrasts with heavier matted materials. Murkudis has also moulded what looks like boiled wool into ruched petal-like trousers, corsets and dresses again giving off a cookie cutter plastic effect to go with the high-shine bubble theme. Give me any one of these extreme pieces and you could most certainly send me into bubbly heights.
MAJOR CRUSH ON ALL THE PANTS. I WOULD LIKE THEM TO BE MINE.
This is on my whishlist! =)

That cream dress is amazing. It’s like it’s wearing here, about to morph into something else. Exceptional.

amazing stuff. this brings to mind acne’s fall 09 collection and the tinted plastic pants
Ah thanks for your comment on my blog, I love those pleat trousers, so intricate. The shapes created are amazing, especially that strapless dress (slightly pasta-like).
The guy was probably ‘singing’ this – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyJpWQi0sBM
Haha…thanks Anon…. err.. not exactly my cup of char….but very amusing…
I think you find the choon our quai-Jamaican bro was happy singing to himself was the mind numbing but very catchy “Head, shoulders, knees and toes” by K.I.G…Stella McCartney used it in her FW show so it’s not just the brothers on the block singing Bubbly bubbly, Im so bubbly, bubbly bubbly, Im so damn bubbly…Ha!

Ooh…that long blazer coat is calling my name…
i am in 90 degree heat. those clothes don’t look enticing at all. haha. i can feel myself melting just by looking at it. haha. but, i do love bubbles. i had an awesome bubble gun, but it broke. =/
My favorite piece is the simplest – the cream dress with the one huge pleat. Awesome!
the clothes are mind boggling and all…and i don’t know why but i immediately thought of human condom when you mentioned sweaty plastic bubble. ==
heyyy new playlist!
i love pogo’s inventive reworking of alice in wonderland. i was obsessed with it when i first discovered it.
lou reed’s street hassle! i only just (re)discovered this song quite recently in my random internet trawls while looking for the version of ‘Hey You’ that Walt sings in ‘The Squid and the Whale’ (does ANYONE know where i can find a version with the original actor, Jesse Eisenberg singing ‘Hey You’ and NOT dean wareham who’s version is on the soundtrack? i can not find it ANYWHERE!)
and how could i forget Dream…used to scream that with my friends in the middle of the playground at anyone that would listen, boys, teachers, principals, cleaners…ah primary school memories
This reminds me of those amazing clear Acne leggings. Lovvveee it.
The kid on Holloway Road was singin Head Shoulders Knees and Toes by KIG family, big on the funky house scene- you gotta keep up with the music trends as well as the fashion ones…love your blog tho- i get your updates daily. Keep doing your thing
