La Rare Trip

Inspr1 A fair few bloggers' pinings of newish shoe label La Rare culminating in the latest post by Queen Michelle, finally prompted me to enquire about their A/W 09-10 collection which has thrown up images that are a continuation of La Rare's sculptural shoe feats.  The designer Nathalie Elharrar has taken her shoe past of designing for the likes of Thierry Mugler, Paule Ka and Lagerfeld Gallery to good use and now just needs a few more international/online stockists to get more people's feet LaRare-d (if you have the bucks or course as shoe prices run up to EUR1700!).  I'm rather intrigued by the logo of La Rare which features silhouettes of two centaurides.  I'm pretty much imagining Fantasia's centaurides, significantly sex-ed up with these shoes over their hooves, in the drawing style of Guy Peelaert and Jean Claude Forest (references of Elharrar).

  1. Absolutely gorgeous. I did a post about shoes fairly recently, and LaRare came up in the survey and I just died when I set my eyes on them. I was a die-hard Kirkwood fan, but these are definitely on my watchlist now…

  2. oooh! goodness some of those are amazing – especially those last boots. yum! shoe lust. sigh. horrifically expensive tho. love your juxtaposition with the art. excellent choice.

  3. Gorgeousness abounding. The draped chain heels at bottom are my faves. So very sultry.

  4. I am drooling here! Love everything, except for the furred number.
I can imagine doing lots of naughty things in that red criss-crossed one. 😀

  5. Hey, you were in the Dutch newspaper ‘NRC next’ today! 😀 Just wanted to let you know…

  6. Cool!
PS: Just me or the third pair (nude with chunky wooden heel) looks a lot like a pair from Camper’s past winter collection..?

  7. wow gorgeous shoes, fresh takes on classic heels 🙂
do have a peek at my blog if you have the time?
    Lots of love,

  8. Beautiful shoes, although I don’t like the wooden heels as they look too crude to me. However overall the design of the shoes is unique and interesting.

  9. What an awesome collection of shoes. Towering heels, quirky heels… I love nearly all of them. I actually quite like wooden heels. I prefer a chunkier style heel as they last a bit longer and are less likely to lead to a fall from grace.

  10. Really? These cross the line from “hot” and “fashionable” into “decidedly trashy,” to me..

  11. sexy. sexy. nice! i don’t know how but they manage to combine completely outrageous with adult. and i don’t mean xxx-adult, i mean grown-up i guess. so that makes them adult & adult :S

  12. i live in australia and want to uy 2 pairs of boots in their range that i have seen. how can i buy them over here? or is there any way i can buy them and have them shipped over? any one know how?
