>> Alright, I can’t say I’m loving these images, styling or mannequin wise.  I say this only because I don’t feel like they’re doing Michaela Buerger‘s new A/W 10-11 collection the right amount of justice. A hardcore knitwear designer who hails from Vienna and has worked for Veronique Leroy, she set up her own label in 2009 and has since embarked on collaborations with French glove company Maison Fabre as well as creating ballet costumes.  Her A/W 10-11 collection is I guess exploiting an amalgamation of all those things that have surfaced over the past two years or so; spikes, webby knits, cages and texture but with the application of her own techniques and choice of yarns, the effect is still not something you would pass up and be blase about.  That said, I still need to see these in their natural state or placed in a different context as these knitted creations need serious amplification…

  1. I dunno about this. Some of the more wearable pieces strike my fancy, otherwise I don’t see the point of buying pieces that don’t keep me warm, even if they just look cool.

  2. I completely agree with you that the presentation is poor. It always irks me to see great clothes paired with poor styling/modeling/photography because it could be so much better especially when working with such interesting pieces. I don’t see a reason for the purpose of every piece of clothing being to keep you warm, that’s exactly what’s good about these…you can layer them or wear them on warm days when you want to let the breeze through. I love the first grey sweater the model is wearing.

  3. I love hard core knitwear like that. So hard to come by! Absolutely breathtaking pieces. The presentation is eye watering indeed, such a shame. <3

  4. Wow, these are beautiful. I like the light grey ones closer to the bottom in particular. They could definitely benefit with better presentation, though – you’re right, they deserve it!

  5. mmmm gorgeous knitwear. I love it! All that open space and weaving is really making me itch to try and knit something like that.

  6. where can i get the angora pointelle brown sweater?
(the left of 2nd roll) love it!

  7. Hi! Thanks for sharing. These designs are unique. I would wear the first sweater on the second row. Thanks for the information on Michaela Buerger.
