Future Classics is one of those labels that I found whilst ‘dream shopping’ in Selfridges. ‘Dream Shopping’ is something I did when I was 17-18 when I was traipsing around department stores but not yet old enough to afford anything. It’s going around touching things, yearning for things, mentally taking notes of ‘Things to buy when I get a job and am earning stupid amounts of money’ (of course the stupid amounts of money never materialised….). It’s similar to going through an Argos catalogue and folding down the pages of all the toys you want when you’re five.
Then gradually, through the powers of growing up, a few pieces made their way into the wardrobe; a deconstructure top, jersey dress and two button down silk skirts. Of late though, I’ve neglected this ‘dream shop’ label and upon revisiting their website (which was under construction for a while), I find their current AW07 collection to be wonderfully presented in the images above. I say wonderfully because catwalk images don’t reveal the ‘timeless’ and ‘delicate’ qualities of Future Classics pieces, and only focus on the ‘modern’ and ‘deconstructed’ side of things. Matches and Browns have select pieces but I’m now tempted to seek out the label direct for the more decorative pieces. So much has love been rekindled that I’ll even see about viewing the SS08 collection at their presentation in Paris….

susie, we must have caught the same wavelength, because last night i was putting together the posts to write about classic clothing. but this is really cool… i like how artful this line is… my find was a bit more conservative, heck, i’ll post it anyway.
: )
Ah yes, a couple of years ago, I was looking through a magazine and found my “dream” dress. It was green brocade material and empire line. There was a big cream bow round the middle and netting over the shoulders. I fell in love with it and cut it out to put on my noticeboard. It’s still there today, because I hope to find it one day and buy it! Failing that, I am going to try and recreate it, haha. Not so sure that my sewing skills are quite up to that!
hi loves..
sorry to ask an off-topic question but i just bought a white cotton shirt dress which is just a bit too short to wear alone. it’s summer in australia so a bit too hot for leggings. perhaps little shorts?
any fabolos ideas?
thanks

Wow, the clothes are great, but what I really love is the model’s hair. If I had longer hair, i would totally do it like that.
I feel inspired now!! 😀
