Dragana Perisic – cool name, cooler clothes

Fashion is one giant, ever-evolving learning process for me and as much as I try to be informed, I am also constantly discovering (which is why hopefully, this blog won’t be running out of content any time soon!).  One of my discoveries today was the Yugoslavian-born, London College of Fashion-trained designer – Dragana Perisic.  The name caught my eye but the clothes also spoke to me.  Her collections are in short – subtle, wearable yet something makes you want to look again – there’s a very simple quirk to her designs.  I also love her fabric jewellery which has that oh, so lovable, Marni-esque crafty element.

I have no idea where she is stocked but she holds an open studio every first Sunday of the month so come June, I shall pop along, and hopefully snag a few items, and a glass of wine!  (Apparently her past collections are heavily discounted at these open studio days!).

  1. She says in her profile “Dragana Perisic came to London from Belgrade to look for a part for her Suzuki 750. However fashion design took over from motorbikes as her passion, and the fashion capital soon became her home. ” – hilarious!

  2. I really don’t get why everyone raves about this designer, ok so some of her jewelry is quite beautiful but also massively over priced.
Her garments although well made and with beautiful fabrics are hideous and seem to be about 3 years behind fashion.
The designer her self is also very pushy, when visiting her shop I felt almost bullied by her to buy something. You can see the pound signs flashing in her eyes!
Needless to say I wont be shopping there again.
