In recent years, many clothes sellers in Hong Kong and China have taken to selling their wares on eBay to cash in on the fact that the low end clothing that’s common in Hong Kong and China is not so common outside Asia. If you have ever been cheap clothing stores in Hong Kong, you’ll know about the stuff I’m talking about. They take cheap and cheerful to a whole new level. These were clothes that I used to love picking up for the sole reason that the price was right. I have always been horrified by the prices these eBay sellers charge for this cheapy stock. For example a dress that would have cost about HKD30 (around USD6) in Hong Kong gets sold for 10 times the price! No wonder these sellers are popping up like crazy. Though when you need that quick cheap Asian clothing fix, there’s no harm in picking up a dress or two for less-than-H&M prices, even if the prices have been inflated. eBay seller Kawaii sells clothing in huge volumes so there’s a lot of clicking through rubbish involved in order to find some gems. They have cleverly meshed the photos of their dresses with catwalk and celebrity pictures to entice buyers but I think if you go into it with an open mind and a nothing-to-lose attitude, dropping USD20 on a cute dress that gets worn three or four times is not such a bad idea.
Some cute little jackets too….

The Fiona Sit dress ah~!!
I hadn’t checked kawaii-fashion in ages lu.
Yes…the Fiona dress is my fave too!
However do you manage to find so many cute stores with great stuff on ebay? The ones that I stumble across are all positively junkalicious in bad Debenhams/Next style -____- You really do have an eye for fashion!…..
I bought the most amazing dress for HKD$50 over the holidays. You can’t beat that. I bought two bubble skirts for the same price in December and wore them constantly last term, and then replaced them with two deconstructed Kawakubo-esque skirts in April. ‘Cheap and cheerful’ is the perfect description. Topshop is great, but the British high street is so trend-orientated that it’s easy to look dated quickly. I find my HK pieces last longer and segue better with my wardrobe.
REALLY LOVE the 1st and 3rd dress. You must buy it!
omg! that white bubble dress with the bow is so cute!!!
i opened up the new teen vogue and i see lindsay lohan wearing that bow dress in another color. its a knock of marchesa for like a millionth of the price!
