Have been rather eratic lately with my updating recently – apologies! Unfortunately, World Cup fever has indeed landed and it’s party central at the moment. I now unwillingly carry a barrage of football knowledge. Footballing aside, I have also been noting that Graduate Fashion Week has landed in London with shows from the BA graduates at London College of Fashion and Central St. Martins just gone. However, I have been impressed by the talent coming from the lesser known universities such as Nottingham and East London. I think it demonstrates that British talent isn’t just coming from one or two concentrate spots but rather, from all over the country. For me, the main draw with student fashion shows is the fact that they showcase design potential rather than anything marketable/wearable so you get to see collections free of commercial restrictions.

So glad you picked up on those ones from Somerset. When that dress from Suzanne Colley went down the catwalk, a big sigh went through the audience as we all saw the back with all those frills. Beautiful. Hers was my favourite collection of the ones I saw.
Gemma Scott’s knitwear was amazing. I even mentioned that grey cardi on my geeky knitting blog the other day! 😉
