I get inexplicably sad when people make negative remarks about London Fashion Week calling it the graveyard fashion week and what not. I defend and defend but it’s always a losing battle for I know deep down, without the big designers (as in well established), LFW means nothing in the eyes of the fashion crowd worldwide. So I was hallelujah-ing when I read that Alexander McQueen will be showing his McQ diffusion line in London starting from next year. Quite rightly so as the collection is very grounded in London roots as it’s inspired by London goth and rockabilly music. McQueen even thinks that ‘people who wear McQ don’t wear perfume. They smell of the pub and a lot more.’ Well, if that’s not trademark London, I don’t know what is!
On a further note, if you would like to check out the pricepoints, Times gives a good indication here. It’s not McCheap, but some of it is doable and come sale season – oh yes, it shall be mine!
This has nothing to do with the actual topic(other than being about european capitals..), but I was wondering if you have some shopping tips for Paris. Love the uniqueness of your style and I just thought you might have some ideas..
I love LFW. It’s so much more interesting than everywhere else.
