Whoever declared the demise of the supermodel must be eating their words because they seem to be very much back in vogue and demand. Fashionologie has an array of supermodel related news from the Versace ads starring veterans like Christy Turlington and Kate Moss to Linda Evangelista making it onto the cover of US Vogue.
But Claudia Schiffer on the cover of the September issue of i-D magazine was the biggest shock of all. Not least, because it’s i-D but also the way Claudia has been styled. It’s stupendously awesome and the title of her 18 page editorial sums it up: ‘i, Claudia’, a wordplay of ‘i, Claudius’ – conqueror of the past to conqueror of fashion. The words resiliance and versatility doesn’t even begin to cover this editorial. In all truthfulness, the whole editorial was just a joy to flick through. All I’ll say is, it’s good to see her back in such splendid form.

Can’t recall if it’s Versace or Cavalli doing the supposed ‘supermodel’ ad with Kate Moss and 4 or 5 others – but yet I haven’t heard of any of the rest… Weird!
