>> I do realise I'm posting at the speed of light and so apologies for lack of SPAG checking or just general coherency. I just know that once shows/presentations PROPERLY kick off, I might want to go cry in Starbucks from the insurmounting bundles of work so it's best to get it all out even if it is a wonky flow of narrative.
Like always, I'm not about to burst into show by show reporting so at best, it's just going to be deets deets and more deets…
I initially mistook Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil's rucksack to be Natalia Brilli but as it turns out he got it in Shibuya in Tokyo for less than USD100…. I'm of course a wee bit jealousy as I'm still on my rucksack fixation…
Safety pins galore at Vena Cava… trying to work out how many pins I'd need to procure from MacCulloch and Wallis to construct this as it literally spells out DIY…the gauzey shirt with safety pin midriff…perhaps not so much…
Another chunky wedge affair to look forward to next summer, again courtesy of Vena Cava
Actually my real highlight was checking out The Fiery Furnaces playing at Vena Cava's show and I was hoping they'd carry on…
New York fashion show goers are under a bit of a Wang attack at the moment but it's good to see the more interest parts of Wang's A/W 09 collection making an outing. These are being worn by the ever-awesome Laia of Geometrics Sleep.
Jen Kao did a load of nude bikers but in particular I liked this criss cross arm cut-out detailing…
Jingle jangle goes Jen Kao sandals adorned with a chunk of chainmail…
I did say I had to go and check out Rita Liefhebber's collection in person and specifically had to check out this sharded dress which is immaculately executed…tight as a drum in a good way…
Finally, no outfit shot for today (errr…yet…) but I would like to take a moment to give love to the wallpaper in my bathroom at Soho Grand…suitably distracting but not disturbingly so… and yes, my Le Tour de Force hat got an outing… a taxi driver completely agreed that more women should wear hats and promptly went into a very long anecdote about how when he was courting his wife, she wore hats…
Take a look at the collection of stylish Le Tour de Force headpieces, created exclusively for Little Fashion gallery !!

The shoes. Oh gawd, the shoes.
I am dying over Vena Cava!!! Great post. SO sad to be a NY-er and unable to venture onto the scene….
I swear, I made that safety pin top during my second year as a fashion design student in university. Back in the 90’s, mind you. Only mine was a full-on dress and I reckon I still have the sketch somewhere (though I am sure the dress itself was dismantled and reused for, uh, fastening together paper).
Oh my!!! LOVE The safety top vest! Absolutely brilliant!!!
xx
the hat looks great! wasn’t sure on that black dress at first glance but the back is stunning!!

Great reporting by the way- love your energy and enthusiasm! You get a sense of what its like to be there. Tommy’s rucksack- looove!
I love those old-style chatty NYC cab drivers, usually these days you just get the guy talking on his headpiece.
Tommy has pretty cool style himself!
And I love your headpiece.
I love it all, but especially the shoes in the top picture!

Oh Suzie I love you blog and I’ve been loving it for quite a while now. This is why I feel embarrassed that my first comment on you blog isn’t simply saying that I love your blog, I love what you do and that I admire you as a blogger. My first comment is also a question.
I had to ask, HOW CAN I GET THAT Rita Liefhebber AMAZING DRESS??! I need it now! And where can I see the rest of the collection?
