Crystalline

I feel a bit like an awkward doofus posting this video when thus far, about a bajillion 'RIP Daul Kim' posts, articles (thank you Daily Mail, for your ongoing gaffs of crassness) that have gone before this one.  However, whilst the video is being used as RIP mementos, and of course it goes without saying that I am also going to miss Kim's enigmatic looks, I did also want to take this opportunity to big up Kathryn Ferguson's crystal filtered film piece which debuted at the beginning of Richard Nicoll's S/S 10 show and also on online fashion mag TEST (project of Jaime Perlman, art director of UK Vogue).  I love that whilst being a film for Richard Nicoll, it's not necessarily about the clothes but the mood of them, conveyed by a muse with Nasir Mazhar's headpieces also lending well to the swaying crystal light.  The video, when paired with the show then makes complete sense when you see the collection of modern nods to Tahiti in a dusky palette that is both bright and dull at the same time…

Oh and yes, there also happens to be an immense amount of grosgrain in all the pieces…quite jealous of whoever got to go to the haberdashery to pick out all the shades for the collection.

  1. I love the colors in their outfits. I’m going to try to wear layer of clothing one day to see how it turns out.
