I missed the second run of Topshop's EDIT in-store but I'm saving these dates for the next two phrases of EDIT. Phase 1 begins 7th Feb – 14th Mar and Phase 2 runs from 14th Mar – 11th Apr. Since my first instance of waxing lyrical about EDIT, Topshop's initiative of stocking brands outside of their Topshop sphere and collaborations, I've since learnt that their buying process is informed by a mix of travelling, trawling blogs, tradeshows and generally keeping an eye out for new things. I'm therefore especially tickled pleased that people like Angie of I Heart Norwegian Wood, who my love for has been well-documented here got through to the last accessories edition of EDIT through the amount of bloglovin' amongst other factors. For the third round of EDIT action though, in addition to names that have been bounded about the blogs, it's actually Topshop who are educating me on some newbies to keep my eye on… which makes me even more curious to actually check this stuff out in-store….
EG (Dropping during Phase 2) – EG is a brand that I wrote about many moons ago but their S/S 10 collection has shaped up to be far more enticing given that there's a lot of nude, sheer, black, graphic lines and generally, elements that come together in strong yet simple pieces. The body shall be mine, perhaps paired with an equally sheer black organza skirt…
Roba (Dropping during Phase 1) – A click on this Croatian label's website is a bit misleading as you get a bunch of skinny boys modelling the girl's clothing. It definitely speaks nothing about the riveted leather and denim jackets or the peach leather dress.
Reality Studio (Dropping during Phase 2) – This German label is well-established but for some reason lacks a UK stockist until now. The grey jersey and the tan suede does have touches of Alexander Wang's S/S 10 collection to it but I'm loving all of that attire inspired by old and slightly smelly school gyms (complete with worn out old pommel horse).
Martin La Mothe (Dropping during Phase 1) – Lamothe is a Spanish label that crops up in my attention every now and again only for me to find an under-construction website. Designer Elena Martin has gone rope crazy for her 'Cruiser' S/S 10 collection, yet with hardly any obvious references to nautical as she plies the rope into amazing coiled up shapes.
Prose Studio (Dropping during Phase 1) – I didn't realise that one of the Hyeres 2008 finailsts Miriam Lehle had become a newly branded label Prose Studio until recently and since her beautiful molten metal pieces, she's since gone onto exploring other surface manipulations such as ink marbling in these pieces from Prose's S/S 10 collection.
KTZ (Dropping during Phase 1) – No surprises that KTZ have fared the best out of EDIT's buying prowess with its third season being Topshop's resident designer. KTZ have actually relaunched their own e-store but S/S 10 hasn't dropped in yet. There's less hardware than previous seasons but I'm still tempted by the metallic jacket here… something that needs to be tried in-store me thinks.
Nakkna (Dropping during Phase 1) – Another EDIT fave that has fared well…
Two more newbies picked up for this third round of EDIT are Boessert/Schorn (dropping in phase 2) and Rabbit on the Run (dropping in phase 1), individual pieces not yet confirmed.
Sadly, save for KTZ and Makin Jan Ma, none of this stuff is going to be on the Topshop website nor will any of it make it over to the New York store either which I guess reaffirms the Topshop Oxford Circus branch as more than just a Topshop store, securing its status as something of a Pixie Market-esque multi-label stockist…
Ahhhh, I wish these were offered on their site! The bodysuit with the organza bow looks great.
I love the clothes! 🙂 have agreat night!

I used to live in London and boy do I miss it! Nothing compares! I am going back as soon as I am old enough! I will be visiting family soon though so maybe I’ll be able to go to topshop then!!
The hole bloomin lot looks so original had I just looked at photos I would have presumed it to be one of your lovely unknown designers that inspires me!!
I am very happy that three german labels made it into the selection – and even happier that i will actually be in london during phase 1
The EG body is amazing and Reality Studio’s perforated top and bottoms are awesome! I adore perforations.
Nice peach leather dress. Interestingly, (or not) – I was looking at a vintage 80s Jourdan peach leather dress/coat today, and lamenting my lack of funds…
Some really good stuff here.
wow i lOVE those roper skirt and dress!

+++ ROBA +++ new web+webshop soon; for now check us on facebook…
Having worked with the ladies at Topshop last season I can say that they were lovely to work with and REALLY are devoted to searching out new lesser known designers. They’re really on top of their game, and get just as excited about new designers as I think all of “us” do! They first contacted me RE my jewelry, but were very open minded about my clothing as well (even though it’s not widely known that I do clothing too) and let me include a panelled legging, panelled top, cage skirt and harness in my collection, along with the jewelry! I just can’t say enough kind things about the ladies over there! A pleasure to work with, which is so refreshing when working with a large company!
LOVE the middle three and last one – praise be to God for Topshop! Where would the Western female, cool world be without it??!!
As if I thought Topshop could get any better…
They are so amazing at picking out these up-and-comers, and I love how they are not afraid to take risks.
Loving the EG, every last piece! And very happy to be introduced to Boessert/Schorn, I really like that shawl-y thingammy-jig.
Great post!
Bloody hell, I don’t know how you discover these finds! Exciting stuff! =]
All these pieces are so beautiful and unique. Even if I can’t buy them, who cares – they’re DIY inspiration!
