I'll leave the prose-aspects of discussing the latest A/W 10-11 menswear collections to the other half but due to work purposes as well as certain people going live Tweet mad on my TweetDeck, I could hardly ignore what has been going on in Paris and Milan…
I can only try and boil down my week of full-on image browsing into lists. Lists make sense. They put order into my life with their numbers and all is well after each period full stop. This isn't by any means a coherent collective list of items though but is the result of batches and batches of image resizing and uploading.
I may come back to the list, stricken and shocked at my own selection later on. Then I will do this… strike off… because the action of striking-through is really REALLY satisfying.
1. Walter Van Beirendonck plastic gigantic headphones – I've always liked anything that can block out whatever is going on and I'm thinking with these on, the voices in my head would probably start reverberating in and around my ears… neat.
2. Prada Brady Bunch prints and knits – Guys and girls alike need these ugly retro prints in an itchy polyester knit (doubtful that Prada's are made of polyester but that's the way it is in my head) and hang out together drinking too-sweet milkshakes.
3. Romain Kremer rubber spiked funnel-neck cropped jacket – Creamy spikes remind me of anemone tips and I like seeing anemone tips wafting about in the sea…
4. Christian Schoeler for Louis Vuitton bags – The German artist has once again collaborated with Louis Vuitton menswear for three bags. I'm finding it terribly weird that within one menswear season, I've managed to find at least five bags that I'm loving yet in one womenswear season, I can barely find one. Questioning what is wrong with me…
5. Lanvin embroidered "Jeanne" sweater – I think I punched the air and whooped "Go Lucas Go!" when I saw the latest Lanvin collection. A lot of it is down to this very pretty, slightly funny and unexpected embroidered sweater with "Jeanne" on the back.
6. Alexander McQueen skulls and prints – Another season of successful suit printing for McQueen.
7. Dunhill doctor's bag – Not as eye-catching as the silver luggage last season but I do like a good doctor's bag. I especially like it when you open it up and out comes a rack of Victorian lotions and potions.
8. Juun J grey leather waist bag – To be worn layered with other less chic bum bags.
9. Aitor Throup wood-effect sequin trousers – Not technically from the A/W 10-11 collection as this was part of his presentation of his archive of trousers. Still, the point is… WOOD.EFFECT.SEQUINS….SEQUINS!
10. Romain Kremer creamy leather top – Goes along with my softy softy leather search.
11. Kenzo mixed animal print shoes, bag and gloves – Antonio Marras did mixed prints for men superbly but these were the standouts and have also completely convinced me that my previous dislike of animal print was a misguided one.
12. Tim Hamilton embellished balaclava – I can't possibly look hostile in a balaclava with black crystals studded all over it.
13. Aitor Throup grey tweed skulls – Grey tweed skulls… it's instances like this that makes me understand why Steve went up to Throup and went all fan-boy-like.
14. Wooyoungmi grey felt bow top – It's a bow tie, but not the 'dandy' essential that is tied around a shirt. It's sort of sculpted into the top.
15. Juun J leather zipper combi coats – Actually all of Juun J's outerwear was pretty spectacular.
16. Blaak back – I'm not sure whether it's a shredded jacket or waistcoat but I do like navy fraying like this.
17. Cerruti checks – The entire suit is a treat too but I especially like the enlarged check on the trews.
18. Trussardi 1911 boots – They look like they might feeeeeel good to put on. Like your feet would be really satisfied slipping into them.

A good selection and nicely distilled.
btw expect you were watching Stoke Arsenal not Scunthorpe Man City but both had goals in opening minute ref your tweet!
The Christian Schoeler is perfection. And I completely agree… I am being drawn to menswear accessories (minus footwear, of course) much more than what womenswear had to offer up. Give me a Juun J or Schoeler anytime soon, and I’ll be perfectly happy until AW10 gets it’s ass in gear, woman-wise.
