For a Change

>> Me in outfits posing at the camera?  No change there.  Nope, but you do get *drumroll* please…. a different background… ta-daaaaaa!  This is clearly my deranged idea of shaking things up.  Now you sort of know that I don't in fact sleep on my balcony underneath a cardboard box.  And that… I have *gasp* books, magazines and other stuff too.  I sort of don't help this whole changing cause when I'm wearing Etsy favourites like Giia and I Heart Norwegian Wood.  I just remembered these slightly uplifting photos were languishing around on my computer as they were used for an issue of Nylon Japan, showcasing my favourite 'accessories'.  I say uplifting because I'm trying to remember a time when there was this much light flooding into my greenhouse of a flat.  I think I may have bent the term a little with the leather cage skirt but what the hell…

  1. I LOVE those shoes! And that cage is the coolest thing ever! I wish I had the nerve to wear something like that out…

  2. Shake it up….oooh, ooh, now shake it up…..my attempt at singin some old song, apologies.
Those felt (?) accessories and shoes ROCK from outfit #1, as does the cage skirt and leggings in number 2 (say it like Dr Evil..adds to the experience!)
    Sparkles xoxo

  3. i just ordered some leggings from i heart norwegian wood and im so excited to get them! love the cage skirt but im not sure id get enough use out of it to justify the buy…

  4. Interesting architectural jewellery. Is this wood or felt (or both)? But the trippy leggings are the real show-stopper. (My hunch is you couldn’t face standing in the cold anymore. I really wouldn’t blame you…)

  5. I think that if they can’t be worn on their own (ie with nothing underneath) they count as accessories, and I should hope the cage skirt falls firmly into that category!
Funny cage related story: Was watching Marie Antoinette last night and at the early part where they’re stripping off her Austrian clothing and switching to her French clothing they’re putting on her ruffley cage crinoline my BF snarkily remarks “Oh wow Ang, you didn’t tell me you did costuming for Sophia Coppola now”…male humour…hmph ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Ah! Love the colours and that shift shape. As for the indoor shots – it kind of reminds me of way back in the day, before you ‘had a face’ (the camera face days!) and there were rather less yards of comments! Ah, do you get nostalgic? The smiles are a welcome addition from then ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Fewer. Of course, I meant fewer yards! Ack I have a cold and the inner pedant dropped off for a second…

  8. Hi Suse,
Where did you get the ‘think’ letters on your bookshelf?
    I really want one.
    Thanks, love your work xxx

  9. I like these a lot, I love how you have shoes randomly placed on the shelf amongst your books and dvds!

  10. Love the outfits and your room seems so much fun! Umm . . . take that as you will . . .

  13. Evana, the think sign is from cox & cox (though they were crap to deal with- you can probably get it elsewhere).
Love the sixties feel of the first pic, Buble. Missing the sun too.

  14. Tha cage skirt! I love the pink grid and breton stripes, Angie is a genius and I hope she’s still got her shop up in two months, since I’m saving to afford a leather cage.

  15. How do you manage to keep your much worn Marnie platforms looking so pristine?
I am neurotic about my shoes wearing out so any tips would be awesome.

  16. Glowingdoll: Simple Facial Wipes…I carry them everywhere….I try to make sure any splashes don’t stay… but if it’s a scratch…well, then there’s nothing to do but carry on and pretend the shoes are ‘lived-in’

  17. I will see those etsy. very good your necklace and skirt. liked the box in the bookcase too, hehe. kisses.

  18. I find it extremely logical that Susie Bubble would put shoes in her bookshelf like works of art!

  19. i love the stripes with the bright and flowery-ish leggings. you have a really creative eye!!

  20. really beautiful accessories from Giia. and youve paired them really well with the rest of your outfit, i came across your blog through Liberty London Girl who mentioned it on twitter a while back. i love all the photos and write-ups.
