Getting the 214

>> In-store zine incoming!  Most are at it but I was most intrigued by the fact that Topshop's 214 S/S 10 zine have ramped up the design and layout. That's my quasi-serious reason of interest.

The other reason is just a tad selfish.  No, very selfish actually.  They very kindly asked me to grab a load of their S/S 10 Topshop Unique stuff, play around with it on my balcony for a double page spread in the zine.  Do I decline?  Nope… not when I was intent on investigating the 'sexy jelly' (I've stolen that quote from menswear designer Tim Soar who used that phrase to describe latex) rubber t-shirts that were high on my wants-list post-show.  Ironically, the outfit featuring the t-shirt was cut from the spread but perhaps it didn't quite fit with the rest of the sunny/funny outfits.

Now the lighting in the shots above doesn't quite capture the day which I chose to do this when basically me and Steve spent the whole time monitoring sun movements as it kept on going behind the clouds.  We couldn't decide whether sun out or sun in was better.  I was basically at the ready and as soon as any favourable sun positions came up, it was "Go Go Go".  I'll leave you to read the explanations of the outfits if you manage to pick up the mag (free in-stores all over UK) and also if you order something online

All I can say is… neon pom poms… you were a bit of a bitch to carry home due to the weight but I do miss you… drop into the store will ya?

  1. Whoa whoa whoa!! Too much awesomeness for me to handle. Those neon pom poms are DA BOMB and I adore the “sexy jelly” outfit, complete with headdress.

  2. Holla for the balcony! I wasn’t sure about the whole surfer theme Topshop were going for but there are some interesting pieces here. I do like the bobble top very much although the rubber t-shirt makes me hear the quote “I’m the only gay in the village”.

  3. I love your style & blog so much! I am definitely following your blog 🙂 Hope you are having a lovely week!‚Ä®‚Ä®

  13. Hey hun! I think you are so fabulous that I listed you as one of my links of the week: Funsies Friday
The pom-pom sweater may have been heavy, but it’s oh-so-cute! Congrats on being featured in the Topshop mini-mag!
