>> I'm treading on the other half's territory here but when I tagged along for Steve's interview with LCF MA menswear grad Wouter Baartmans, I felt inexplicably drawn… something in the moon, something in the air that told me a lycanthrope was about. It was in fact Wouter's theme for his collection; 'Moonshining Werewolves' where combining the styles of American depression and the horror genre of the 30s, you get a collection of luxurious layering. This is most definitely a tag-along post seeing as Steve has all the useful information on Wouter's collection.
Drawing from that theme, the furry aspects of Wouter's collection (made in collaboration with Furlab) were the small doses of fur that I'm unapologetically loving. The little collar in particular which I said before is definitely meant for layering purposes over more than just a man's dress shirt…
…and these double sided fur/leather gloves which I imagine being worn with something quite delicate like an old fashioned mousseline dress just to balance out the "ROAR"-ness of the gloves…
Then there's the grey wool lux tracksuit bottoms… nope, they aren't grey jersey but in the wool, there's something even more formal about them and quite possibly these are going beyond the heights of my grey marl fixation. I love that the pockets are also trimmed with leather too.
I may be stepping on the other half's feet but this time, I'm blaming it all on the moon and the howl. Off to hunt out YouTube clips of 1935's Werewolf of London….
Fantastic collar, I love that look!

nothing to do with the post but I just heard the news about mcqueen – oh my lord….
Oh I have the same shoes!!!! Feeling very honored all of a sudden 🙂
i really like the fur collar (:
That fur collar looks so cute!
I’m sorry but your sentence including those fur gloves and mousseline (which I misread as ‘mouse’), somehow made me conjure up the reason why Minnie and Mickey mouse wear gloves over their hands… so so wrong XDD
The trousers are amazing, love the leather trim! So sad about McQueen, another legend gone!
where are those shoes from?!?!? super cute!
RIP McQueen
OMG the cassette Playa shoes!! I have the same pair, but wandering if i should return them as they’re a pain to walk in, or is it just me?
I’ve noticed the fur collars slowly emerging, and I love those.
I adore that collar and the way you have linked in the touches of mustard throughout your outfit.
The fur collar is so cute, it’s like a teddy bear. I’m a fan of separate collars in general, might have a go at making some I thinks…

SUSIE AND READERS WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Central Saint Martins, world renowned school of fashion, art and design is being forced to move to a new site in Kings cross with 25% less space in the fashion studios! Leaving behind a building which has changed the shape of fashion throughout the world. It seemed as though decisions about the delegation of space had already been made and that there as no room for alteration.
Our main concern is the 25% reduction in space for fashion, at the moment we have to negotiate the studio space between the rest of our class so we can not imagine creating a degree collection in an even smaller environment.
We will no longer be able to study in buildings with beautiful architecture or relevant, exciting surroundings. We will be sharing large air-conditioned office spaces with only partitions separating pathways.
During pattern cutting projects we need to have access to the studios from 10 in the morning until 10 in the evening, at kings cross we will be fighting for this space along with the short courses and foundations students.
Combining foundation with degree has to be one of the worst elements of the move it goes against the whole structure of st martins and their presence will be resented by those on the degree.
Another point that was raised by many students at the talk relates to the shared access of the print and knit studios between fashion and textiles. We need to see detailed floor plans to be reassured that this won’t impact on the quality of our work.
I haven’t spoken to any students from fashion who feel positive about the move, I personally feel great sadness that we will have to leave a building that has such a great historical and cultural significance.

I love that this is coming back in style. I have a long peacoat that I re-designed and I took the fur collar off two years ago. I’m glad to know that I can use that fur collar now!
Ahhh the fur peter-pan collar is too good! The shape makes it really special since most fur collars seem to be really rectangular and squared off at the ends. It doesn’t seem like a hard DIY but I have no idea how to work with fur… well I suppose I will just end up scouring ebay/etsy to try and find something similar.
I lurve those platformy lace ups and the colors, you look so cute 😀
that collar is charming, though the fur/faux fur argument is an intense one. but the argument against fur is really very similar and close to the argument against leather, but nobody wishes to hear about that, so best not even go there. hmm! those gloves are a bit werewolf in London, aha.

where are the brilliant shoes from! please tell us!
🙁
I’m so dissapointed. You’re better than this, Susie.
Apparently they were selling loads of fur collars in Hong Kong during Nov – Dec, because it was a big hit in Japan (Vivi the magazine had like a page dedicated to that)…but alas! Fur in HK weather???
Also, nice shoessss 😀
Love everything, and they make a wonderful outfit together!
it`s cute…like the shoes as allways…no bad…
please post me back…

nice shoes!!! where is it from??
love the fur collar too !!!
5 stars!!
The McQueen news was shocking! He was someone who I felt truly put his heart and soul into every collection. I went back through his archived runway shows and was so inspired. Did a post with images of his work as far back as Spring 2005.
I love this outfit, reminds me of cricket stars in the days of old. I can’t wait to hear you speak this Monday at the IFB conference.

PS. the platforms…im salivating.
The fur collar is adorable like a teddy bear…but knowing it’s real makes me feel queasy. Faux all the way!
leather is usually a by-product of the food industry, fur almost never is, that simplifies the debate for me.
wow, you’re cute
Another legend gone,certainly not forgotten.ㅠㅠ
sooooo very cute!:D You are one among people which I respect.
Hey Susie,
Where can I find the LUX track pants? I have been dreaming about a new style that is comfortable but so socially acceptable beyond sweats. Those pants speak volumes to this idea. I love clothes that are comfortable, but there is no in between yet. It’s either be a scrub, or be dressed up to the T. The in-between will grow! Maybe I should start designing… Have fun at fashion week! p.s. How do you get into shows?
Honoured that the sweater is being worn… YIPPEEE!!!
please….. where can i get shoes?
