>> My descent from bag-hatin' to bag-lovin' has been a slow burning process, one that I'm scarily aware of, particular when I actually kill time at Terminal3/5 going into the Mulberry store to check out the goods as opposed to perching at the seafood bar chomping on dressed crab. The "me" from five years ago would have looked at present me with contempt and disgust.
Still, I'd like to think that my current state of bag-lovin' doesn't tow the conventional line and this latest acquisition which is incidentally my first Theyskens Theory purchase is a appropriately warped addition to the rest of my frighteningly burgeoning collection. If you haven't seen any mention of Theyskens Theory here before, it's not because I, along with most of the fashion industry and consumer, haven't fallen for the surprisingly good alliance between Theyskens and Theory. I just haven't found the right piece to get stuck into. I did think a particular pair of S/S 12 iridescent lambskin trouser that harks back to the Ariel Little Mermaid fishtail dolls of yesteryear, would be my way of breaking into the Theyskens Theory gang, one that already has a virulent and fervent group of followers.
Instead I did something that I rarely do which is point to something in a magazine (Elle UK's December issue in this instance), phone up a store enquiring about it, ask them to notify me when it's in store and then when it arrives, go in and collect it. Along that old school process, something always seems to go awry. This time, I went all the way and the result is this Anta bag from the Theyskens' Theory resort collection that has had a paint treatment that sort of looks like when a camera blurs out into pretty bokeh lights at night. Looking at the different images of the bag on Barney's and Shopbop, no paint job is the same either, a quality, which they haven't annoyingly touted as 'Limited Edition' of 'One-Off' and that is a comfort. Olivier Theyskens' mug courtesy of a Theory x Deer Dana tee, staring back at people may well be my stealthily silent reminder for people to go join the TT devotee gang and lose their Theyskens Theory virginity.

Love the bag but the T is cracking me up – Olivier is kinda looking like Charlie Manson 😀 !
ZOMG so in love with the colour bleeding! 🙂 and the price is rather reasonable for the material and the amount of handiwork needed for it as well… i’d say it’s quite a bargain 😀
the only question i hv is the straps on the bag – whaz with the crossed straps?! not sure how those are supposed to work… x

Have you checked out the work of Kitty Josephs? Has some brilliant gradiated/paint effects on her pieces….!
I think they’re just a design detail… they probably didn’t want to do a BORING messenger style so they added the cross straps for detailing…
No I haven’t but I shall. I just adore adore adore that minx of vibrant colour. Yum!
mix not minx!
cool look.
three things i find quite unique here..
those are her hair style, print on her t-shirt and her purse.
Colors of her purse is awesome
I love how naturally the baseball jacket matches the skirt. And as a bag addict, I have to say it is a real problem! I have more bags than clothes and I had to make an extra closet ot keep them in! Lovely bag!
