Shoe Sistahs

>> This is a small and inconsequential tidbit that tickles me for the festive season as two pairs of shoes reunite after five years of err… abuse with one pair and immaculate up-keep with the other.  Quite literally, the second post ever on Style Bubble revolved around Pop Magazine (when it was under Katie Grand and lots of furry animals would be in the issues)'s Pop-Up shop at Selfridges which sold limited edition products from the likes of Lanvin, Mulberry and Luella.  A few months later, I nabbed the Miu Miu platform heels from the collaboration in the sale and forked over ยฌยฃ130 in cash and they've been worn and torn ever since, losing one singular gem stone on the way.  The grotty soles bear the marks of severe pavement pounding, cobblestone stumbling and dancefloor greasing.  This fate will soon befall upon its glittery counterpart with a gem-encrusted lower heel, which I bought on eBay.  I was slightly worried when I thought my eBay habit was waning this year.  This was surely a sign of laziness to not be bovvered to search through the usual searchterm list.  It picked up again towards the end of the year and weirdly upon looking at the seller's PayPal address, I discovered I actually knew the person in real life making the transaction even sweeter.  Her trash, my treasure and all that.

So here they are reunited – the old-new shoe with the old-old shoe, both glinting away and beckoning for crusty feet to rough em' up over the festive period…

  1. Words can not describe how much I love those shoes. It’s hard to figure which pair is the most beautiful, but wow, the glittery pink ones with those amazing heels! You have got to take some pictures wearing those beauties. Omg I’m in love…

  2. Ah, that’s so funny that they happened to come from someone you knew; both heels look really great and I’m sure you’ll definitely wear your new-old pair just as well. Looking forward to seeing them in future outfit photographs!

  3. Is it horrible that I think Miu Miu is Miucca’s pet project where she can dump all her tackiness?

  4. Both pairs are gorgeous (and the not-glittery ones have me a little misty-eyed, they’re practically Style Bubble wardrobe classics by now). I remember you saying the original pair was really comfortable – does the same go for the glitter ones? Since they even have a lower heel and all?

  5. Also, in my humble opinion the SS06 shoes (and the POP spin on them) were the best Miu Miu’s ever done, it can’t be a coincidence that Miu Miu’s current collection has glitter shoes too!

  6. I love the MIU MIU glitter ones, I’d love to feature them for my blog and I’ll give you the credit. Would you mind giving me the link where you can buy them? Thanks
