I haven’t a lot to give at the moment but I did want to thank readers for clicking ‘Style Bubble’ on their RSS reader, their favourites or typing it in their browser… the blog is approaching its three year birthday in 2009 which officially makes me a ye olde blogger, complete with long Confucius style beard for me to stroke wisely. The fashion blogosphere has grown in such a way that this site could have slipped into redundancy and into a decrepit state…
So, it’s now officially Christmas Day in London now, and I’ve been working on this ickle pressie for a few days to give to readers. It’s nothing much and nothing fantastic unfortunately. I did say that I would be making a Style Bubble Shops London off-shoot site which is still in the works but due to lack of time, it never quite took off despite my gathering of tons of material. Therefore, a reader prompted me to make a Google Map instead…
Anyhow…here’s the link to the Style Bubble Shops Map… and there’s a pretty crammed list that basically represents all the shops that I personally have frequented and personally rate. It is by no means a comprehensive shopping guide to London…and of course I don’t pretend to be some sort of London shopping expert… it’s more of a snapshot of where I go and what I see…
Some notes just to add onto the map making this the lamest Christmas pressie ever…
*I’ve crammed everything onto one London map so you would need to zoom into areas and print out the maps to get a clear idea of where everything is. I’ve added a line about each shop just to sum it up… it’s not particularly useful…more like an itty opinion.
*Not all areas are covered…I live in North London and South of the river is like another country to me so there is very little there…I will add shops to it though if I come across any.
*All shops on the map are mainly fashion-related, if not, style-related in some way – like fashion bookstores etc…
*I’ve listed some of my favourite charity shops with the acronym CS at the end of the shop title. Obviously I haven’t listed every one of them and the general rule of thumb with charity shops is if you see one and you get a feeling something might be good inside, go on in and have a rummage.
*Despite having a style-conscious boyfriend, the map is a bit thin on menswear…the obvious places are listed but I haven’t listed any Savile Row tailors or the like, having had no experience of them…
*I’ve listed some of the ‘biggie’ designers but if they’re not there, it’s because they’re quite obvious…. if you walk down Sloane Street and Bond Street, that’s pretty much the whole shebang… I’ve only listed the ones I like in particular with regards to the store design etc.
*Like I said, it’s a work-in progress that will continually updated…
Ack… apologies and Merry Christmas everybody! Hope this pressie will be of some use to Londoners or future visitors…
