Mwah Mwah!

>> Remember Sophia Webster's lippy shoe love-in with Revlon's Ultrasuede lipstick?  I did say that the results of this unique shoe designer and beauty brand collaboration, there'd be real physical product to be had and so here are a pair of Kiki Kisses (matched up with Revlon's 005 Muse shade) and all its lippy components on my admittedly mangled feet.

With black and white striped straps and a matching spindly heel, touches of lilac and coral, a PVC upper printed with red kisses and a Muse-shaded suede lippie running up the back, there's a whole lotta shoe going on.  Some innate "fashwanista" instinct says that rules need to be imposed to temper and balance out such fancy feet.  Ripped boyish jeans that say "I had these hanging out to dry", a "nonchalent" sweatshirt and a clutch that fits phone, credit card and little else because everything bulky is waiting inside a chauffeured car.  There's almost something quite textbook about this combination that would score you points in the modern test of uniform chic.  The inclination to dress this way is a little tempting.  Everything appears as per "normal" except your feet in their teetering state (although it has to be said, the coral mount where the heel starts gives the spindle a good deal of support).

Except that defeats the very purpose of the shoe.  They are not shirking away from anything.  Their kiss marks sully your exposed squished up and sweaty toes.  They have heels that beg for ridicule from the world at large.  Their colour combination has been lifted from the pink n' girly toy section of the Argos catalogue.  They are unabashedly indulgent.  Therefore, in my opinion, they deserve nothing less than the froth that they represent – pink, fluff and sparkle – all of which I have plenty.  They're the sort of shoes that only encourage my innate sensibility to keep decorating myself as though I was a toppling multi-tiered cake at the wedding of a league one WAG, hence why I've got about a bazillion layers on.  Moreover, whilst I've never physically said "Mwah mwah" to anyone, wearing these pair of Kiki Kisses could almost induce me to whisper those words to a close friend who might tolerate such cliched vocabulary in jest.

  11. I have to say I much prefer the second outfit, the colours are fabulous. The first outfit looks like you’re in disguise somehow. Amazing shoes, although they should probably give you ¬£50 of free Hailo credit with each pair.

  14. Sophia Webster is fabulous precisely because she creates these types of shoes. Shoes that don’t just ask, but command, pink and sparkle and all that entails. If it’s not already clear, I’m a huge fan. Long live froth inducing shoes.

  29. While looking at the first few pictures (with the boyfriend jeans and the sweater) I was really disappointed and thought that it didn’t look like Susie at all but when I saw the other ones with the AMAZING outfit I was really relieved 😀
