I use to rage against the Barbie-type in my pseudo-rebellious youth – blonde hair, big blue eyes, perky body did not agree with my ‘I’m so indie/alternative/different’ teenage awkward phase.
But now that I’ve aged a bit, the Barbies in the world don’t irritate me because of course i have realised that even Barbies have their problems. Even better, when encountering a real life Barbie, you sort of have to marvel at their perkiness. Here is Barbie promoting the new MAC Cosmetics range at Galeries Lafayette. Look at that frozen smile, the perfectly angled arm and that gloriously pink ruffled dress. It’s a plastic perfection that can only be applauded.
Speaking of the range, I’m completely feeling perfect pink lips except with my colouring, it would be all wrong. By all means though, if you can handle it, go on and bring out the inner Barbie in you.
Love it! My faves from the collection are the Pearl Blossom beauty powder, Happening Gal l/g and Fab blush!
I have bought some stuff from the MAC Barbie range, can’t wait for it to arrive through the post! There is a lipstick I liked the look of, but it had sold out – hopefully a store will have it.
Umm today at Mac there was an actual real barbie girl. I was shocked! she sat there like a porcelin doll and kept making the funniest ditsy faces. Great line but I really didn’t need to see a person dressed as Ditsy Barbie!
this is crazy
