Luella hearts London

It seems the British Fashion Council have been doing a lot of pleading and cajoling as a big (well ish….) name is returning to the London Fashion Week schedule. Marc by Marc Jacobs showing in London last season made zero sense to me. Luella Bartley however, returning to London is a bit more sensical. Luella will be showing her spring summer 2008 collection in London come September which neatly coincides with the opening of her first standalone store on Brook Street, London (hmm… sounds familiar). It’s not known whether Luella coming back to London will be a permanent thing but I would say it’s no bad thing for the LFW schedule. Though I’ve never been a huge Luella fan (a little too cutesy/Brit gimmicky for me….), I think the label would sit well in the schedule as an established brand along the likes of Paul Smith and Aquascutum whilst still maintaining a bit of quirk that is very London.

On a side note, being a non-Luella follower, I had no idea the website had an online store and in the sale section (yes, woe is me for being a cheapskate), are some quite affordable pleasant things. I say pleasant as nothing is particularly ‘Wow wow wow’ but I’m not going to say no to a ¬£45 cashmere sweater, cutely adorned with pom poms either.
