I’ve never found it too much of a task lucking out at sample sales in terms of sizing. There’s always a healthy supply of 8’s and 10’s and S’s to keep me happy. Shoe sample sales are something else altogether. Being smack bang in the middle of average women’s feet size 38 or a UK5 means you can say goodbye to the covetable lovelies and greet the leftover orthapaedic shoes. So I literally dropped into the Patrick Cox sale with zero expectations. a) Patrick Cox shoes may have beautiful craftsmanship but the styles can be a little too grown up for me. b) I’m flat out broke. No, seriously – there is a can of chick peas in my cupboard and I’m thinking that I can get three lunches out of it. c) Sizing issues – see above.
As suspected, shoes were priced at a ‘bargainous’ ¬£60 and boots were ¬£100. Ok, so under any normal fiscal circumstances, that would be ‘bargainous’ but not when you’re considering canned chick peas for sustanance. Then I spied the press cardboard box – all shoes marked at ¬£10 a pair. After a few minutes of rummaging, I decided to give these UK size 7 black lacquer sculpted wedges with satin crossing ribbons a try. Reason being they are SUPER LUSH black lacquer sculpted wedges with satin crossing ribbons.
The brain has seriously gone mental. Me wearing UK7 shoes?! All because of a ¬£10 press box sign? But miraculously…. they fit! No major heel sticking out. No falling over. Once all ribbons were secured, I was good to go with the boyf egging me on and nodding profusely. So I said goodbye to food for a week and handed over the tenner. If I was financially secure, I would have bought them anyway just to hang them up in my room in a shoe mobile, but as it stands, Patrick Cox has given me the gift of severe undersizing and so I felt the tenner was well spent. Cheers. I may be a little hungry this week but cheers all the same.

Oohh, I’m not a P Cox fan but they look hot on you!
those are absolutely fabulous shoes. Deffinately made the right decision there.
i think this is the first post you mention your bf! the shoes are beautiiiiifull?? are they comfy?
wow. that really is a bargain!!!
You are so lucky
♥
those shoes are really something special!
There’s something very erotic about these shoes…the shape reminds me of those silk lotus shoes.
they don’t look big at all.
I love the heel!
Starving because of shoes:) Cliche.
Don’t we all do it?
all i can say is dang, you scored.
Very interesting shoes, made more interesting by pairing them with black tights giving an unbroken sculptural line extending up the leg. Besides, chickpeas are good for you and, under the circumstances, are the perfect meal . . . or meals.
Wow, those look like torture devices, sexy torture devices, but still…
Actually, because they’re a little bigger than what i usually wear, they’re surprisingly comfortable! So I suppose that’s another plus point!
woow,i do luv the heels!
No wonder they were marked down to £10. There hideous!
Eat you can do next week, those shoes are art!
Coco, perhaps before deriding someone else’s taste, you should take a quick refresher course on grammar and spelling?
Susie, the shoes are fantastic, real stand outs!
I really like your texture contrasting here. It’s all black but it’s interesting. Is it just me or do you also find wedges to be a challenge to walk in?
