Stalking the Pink

Some people are just plain hard to approach for Bubble Cam purposes.  Take this girl that I had to secretly take pictures of at the Hyeres festival a few weeks ago.  Myself and a few of my friends were intrigued as to the origins of her pink dress was.  The pink was just so….neon slash hot.  The shape was so….girly slash folksy.  The sleeves were so…poofy.  A combination of the three made it so… pretty.

After our secret snapping, we managed to get a short (if a little haughty…) answer ‘YSL.’  So then the questions arose amongst us again.  Was it vintage YSL?  Pilati?  What season seeing as we didn’t recognise it as being from any of the main collections.  We thus put it down to being a cruise collection dress.

That’s how one outfit can cause a bit of a ruckus amongst fashion fiends.  Honestly, I do wonder whether the average person would shake their heads in disbelief and laugh.

  1. yes the average, common person without any appreciation for new things would definitely laugh, specially in the narrowminded place I live in..uhhg!
I love the color and the sleeves…maybe, maybe, maaaybeeee she made it herself, and we’ll be seeing her collection on the runways in a few years, and you’ll have a picture of her ‘before she got famous’ and it’ll be worth alot! hahaha

  2. I too am wondering if she ment YSL Patterns… and made it herself… Lovely though, and a shame she was not more forthcoming – what has happened to manners these days???

  5. Do love the dress, and the leather tote is quite something as well. But what’s with the croydon facelift hairdo? Could probably explain the haughty response.

  6. Hello Susie,
You finally did put that famous dress and you forget to say that she put that dress all day long but also that night at the party…
    See you soon in London,
    Marjorie

  7. Hey Marjorie… yes I forgot about that! My bad!
the_kitten: Ever the vigilant one! Very observant indeed! I forgot to mention she was also wearing some covetable black patent Roger Vivier pilgrim shoes too…

  8. I saw one dress like that at Massimo Dutti shop yesterday. I think it’s just a “lookalike” one but it’s really pretty.

  9. don’t know the provenance of the dress but the shoes are L’autre Chose….

  10. Okay, this is terrific. AND…it makes me feel like a normal fashion fan. You see, whenever we return home from a trip abroad I have an entire collection of ‘stalker’ shots taken of women in fabulous outfits. Some are more than happy to share (“Oh, this? I bought it last week two doors down…”) while some respond as if you were asking for access to their bank account. And then there are the images I have covertly taken of unapproachable fashionistas. These are often quite funny and some of the most stylish of outfits.
I find that most women don’t mind the inquiries, especially when they can tell you sincerely appreciate their styls choices. Who doesn’t like to be appreciated? 🙂
