I said I wouldn’t do it. I actually promised myself I wouldn’t. I’m talking about ‘doing the Prada SS/07’ – yup short tight satin miniskirt/shorts and turban. What did we talk about Susie when we bought that Topshop grey turban? Not to go and do the obvious! And what did you go and do?
In defense of my wardrobe deed, in my hungry and slightly delirious state this morning at 10:30, what I was really after was a big fat sticky Danish pastry and somehow, without energy, I couldn’t even make it to the Hungarian bakery and went into the Cancer Research charity shop instead which was about 3 shops closer. There, I found the a black satin skirt for ¬£2.50 and in my head, I weighed up that the skirt would be a better buy than the overpriced Danish (they are pretty damn good though…) – a decision made in errornous madness or correct choice? I have no idea…
Anyhow, with a vintage green silk top, the aforementioned turban and some Georgina Goodman for Evans shoes, it was the Prada on the Cheap easy-as-a-doodle outfit that never should have occurred yet here it is before your very eyes. The hemline is hiked up in my forgiving hovel bedroom but clearly something that short would get jeered and leered at so in that annoying and predictable way that fashion magazines like to advise people how to wear clothes ‘in real life’ (I’ve never gotten why it is things always need to be adapted for practicality’s sake….), I’d have to concur on this occasion and say opaque tights are the way to go.

Oh Susie you are so damn lucky to find that skirt at that charity shop…

i think you made the correct choice, even if it does look “so Prada.”
Hello! I have recently dicovered this place, and read the entire archive over the space of three days. I love it.
Just a note to say 1. have you seen the cloche hats and the cute headwraps new on the Urban outfitters site? and 2. have you seen the lovely Emma Cook hats in the current Amelia’s Magazine. I’m sure there was something else I wanted to say… but it fails me.
Big Love, Matilda x
susie! it’s oh so obvious but it’s still top scorer in my book…i mean 2.50 for that skirt?!?!?
Wow, this looks reaaaaly nice.
oh how i want that skirt!
i’d wear it that short, yo! jeers and leers aside- you’re only young enough to get away with looking a bit slutty once!
