The Practical Stuff

bagboots1.jpg

Apologies for the lack of commenting over the next few days as I have tragically killed both my iBook and my Sony Vaio in the space of a week (cocked up hard drive and screwed up motherboard respectively….) so I’m feeling ever so geekish typing here at a hotel business centre (it’s much better to geek out in the privacy of your own room…).  Whilst I’ve been trying to fix my sans computer solution, I haven’t yet delved into what New York has to offer but I did come prepared for the weather which was attrociously stormy yesterday…

Ergo… I present you my first pair of practical purpose shoes…. the rainboots in a bag that are as light as a feather and were on sale at Luisa Viaroma.  Pretty they ain’t (though the navy patent, my fave sort of patent, is a bonus….), but I’m free to slosh about and trot about along the lo-ong stretches of avenues and streets here.  I shall set about them prettifying them though by threading through some grosgain ribbon and also pairing them in a way that doesn’t blatently say ‘outfit with rainboots’ but ‘outfit with navy patent flats boots’.  There is a difference by the by.

  1. Oh, I don’t think they are that bad!
    Patent is always nice.
I always think rainboots are so cute, but, I’m not much of a walker. I mean, I’d be able to wear them into a store, or up to the mailbox (maybe I should convince my mother to get a pair, she walks our dogs in the rain a lot, and, I could borrow them), but after that I’d just be the weird girl walking around inside in rainboots.

  2. Bubble, NY is too fun to sit in a hotel blogging. STOP right now and just go out and roam the city!

  3. I like those boots! Let me know if you’re in need of further non-fashion entertainment during your visit.

  4. Bummer about those laptops, S.!
Boots are cute. They don’t make you look as if you are going duck hunting in the marshes near La Guardia.
Have fun in the slosh! Jump in a puddle or two, it’s good for the soul.

  7. Damned laptops… I have a highly dysfunctional relationship with my own, consisting mostly of ‘please, please, PLEASE don’t give me the Blue Screen of Death’ and ‘shut up and work, you ****!’ 🙂
Those shoes are seriously cute, Susie- if I had them I’d splash around every puddle in sight just because I could. Though maybe that’s not a good idea..

  8. I wear wellies all the time in NYC. I feel like a tit, wearing them in town, but Manhattan has more rain filled potholes than London! LLG xx

  9. I was just going to say, New Yorkers LOVE wellies! I personally do not, but I’ve seen a few rather nice renditions of the wellie that make them more fashionable.
And fashionable geeks, unite! (be it in the business center, online, you know…whereev)
