Pony Steppin’ Up

On Ponystep this morning, I got a pleasant Michelle Jank surprise.  Sadly not another necklace (Jank, I officially hold your necklace responsible for people oggling my chest and it ain't because I've got any interestin' goods going on in that department…)  Ponystep has started doing editorials in addition to articles and interviews and Jank has styled this shoot with photographer Paul Scala.

"It was a mediation on using waste and unloved material to hopefully create something unexpected, something a little beautiful."

Garbage bag fashion isn't a new concept of course but I do believe this is one of the finest photographed examples I've seen in a while.  It might have something to do with the Marnie Skillings garments and Elke Kramer (my Aussie radar is still switched on through Kat's regular emails…) being worked into the styling as well that harnesses those plastic sacks into something that I might almost kid myself into thinking I too could wear… thought banished pronto.

  1. These are wonderful, the bin bags have been used and manipulated so well. Yay that Ponystep are doing editorials now!

  2. Just stunning, especially the last one! May not be a new concept, but I think I’ve never seen garbage bags look more chic.

  3. I really like how they used the trash bags in the last one by using them in a way they couldn’t have used another fabric! Several steps above “Derelict,” methinks.

  4. great pics. thought you had posted the lucy fizz editorial then which was also great.

  5. Strange, I feel like all of the garbage bags just look like leather/animal skin! Stunning editorial, though.

  6. it’s awesome how they can create fashion from garbage or plastic sacks!! i just have seen this pics on the fashion spot, but there are places where I can’t read more because I don’t have an invitation! 🙁
do u know how can I get one??
    xoxoxo
