Some of you may have seen it already and whilst I don't flag up EVERY bit of press the blog has had, I did want to point people towards my most candid and honest interview I've done which is now up on Ponystep.com. Not that I'm a flamin' liar who has been telling journalists fibs about possessing gold nipples or anything. Just that I felt incredibly open with Pippa Brooks, aka Madame of the now sadly passed Maison Bertaux as we sat down in a cafe and nattered for about an hour over a cup of tea. She writes a blog and consumes blogs herself and that already makes questions far more interesting and even better that our conversation took a few various turns (some of which wasn't transcribed…). Hell, I enjoyed reading it and it was me doing half the talking! Kind of like rewatching a home video you made with your friends…except without the excruciating pain of listening to your own voice. I thank Pippa for taking the time to have a good chat. Let's make time at M. Goldstein (Madame's new shop which has just been featured in the latest issue of i-D!) and coo over new Bodymap pieces…
To go with the interview, photographer Nik Hartley shot me hobbling around (was still struggling with the ankle then…) and they too have turned out wonderfully…down to his photography skills rather than moi as a great subject…
(Gemma Slack dress, Wolford tights, vintage creeper boots)
(Tim Ryan skirt and cardigan, Maria Francesca Pepe t-shirt, Anthony Vaccarello necklace, tights and shoes as before)
(Sheer embroidered sleeve tee from Brick Lane UpMarket, Maria Francesca Pepe t-shirt, vintage fringe skirt, Michelle Jank necklace, Wolford tights, Sergio Rossi wedges)
how cool. Love the pictures. your too cute (in my frat bra ways “hot”). keep it up hun.
Wow it was a really interesting read Susie! Congrats and the pictures are awesome. That last one with your hair blowing is amazing. Looks like the shoot was fun too!

pretty cool interview; also evident that you do it for you & nobody else, as you never cover menswear! hah. But it works…when you start covering menswear in-depth, it’s time to pack it in =)

the photos turned out great 🙂

best pictures ever!
great interview susie. i always love seeing your wonderful self getting some much deserved press!
I think part of the reason I like your blog so much is that you are honest and very much yourself. You don’t have an attitude, and that’s incredibly refreshing. The interview was awesome.
On top of that, more often than not your outfits are amazing. I credit you for my subtle exploration into “I felt like experimenting today” wardrobe choices…
And I, like every one else, love that last photo.
wow! you’re on university reading lists now!? what a lovely interview and I adore the first photo with the Gemma Slack dress.
Amazing interview; loved the questions and your responses. The photos are icing on the cake!
This is my first comment on your blog, I’ve been reading for a year haha you’re fabulous and that interview was brill keep up the amazing work.
very artistic and beautiful. black and white was a good choice
The photos are so lovely- they make you look moody and deep (in a good way of course).
Great interview, Susie!
cha-ching! great interview. it’s funny with how much you say here and how open you are there STILL is a behind the scenes. i look forward to more! and my god those creeper boots. in white. shnice! i cannot cannot believe i gave up my 6 inch creeper platforms. DUH. anyway. those photos are really beautiful.
I loved reading the interview Susie! Honestly don’t think the blogging world would be whole without you. You’re the standout. I don’t think your insecurities or different dress sense is an issue, but you’ve chosen to go with your heart and that is <3.. 🙂
the windy pic is glorious.loved it!
i didn’t know you were 24!(until now that i read the FAQ section hehe) you look SO young!

what an amazing photoshoot. I really need to find a photographer friend cos all the photos of me are shit. or maybe i need to learn to pose as my instant reaction to a camera is to have my mouth wide open
Inspiring interview + beautiful photos…The juxtaposition of the gemma slack and the creepers is stunning.
Great interview!
Amazing! I don’t know if I’ve seen the creepers before but they look great on you 🙂
Oh my, You look amazing.
x
i have never commented on your posts before, but i would just like to say that i really admire your truthful and realistic response to the question about chinese factories and their role within fashion and economy.
also, as a fashion student, i completely agree with your statment about seeing a designer on your blog and then further researching them myself – some of the designers that i have been most inspired and awed by were found on your blog. thanks xxxxx
What a wonderful interview! I think everything that you seem to be about was really eloquently presented in that interview, and with fab photos to go with it! (i love love love the 3rd one!) I’m glad that the few times you discussed shutting down the blog, you always changed your mind. Fashion really wouldn’t be the same without you! (sorry for the cornball message, but it had to be said)
you look amaaaaaaaazing
a bit late to read this but i loved your candor and down-to-earthness about everything. and i do believe creative, innovative and honest blogs like yours completely discredit the self-righteous, narrow-minded criticisms some people spout about fashion blogs. 🙂
” Grazia made me look like a Philippino prostitute according to my mum”. That was the best line I’ve read in awhile. Here’s to mothers and their opinions.
What a great interview!
I have been reading this blog for a while, long enough that we never got to see your face for a while, and as much as you post and comment I think you quite rightly so don’t delve too much into your personal life. In this interview you seem so much more relaxed and you come across as quite grounded considering the notoriety the blog has reached. You have a complete convicition and love for what you do and thats what makes the blog so ace.
I’ll stop gushing now, this is the 1st comment I’ve ever left.
p.s you are a right hotchops in those photos!
Black & white photos is the shit
These pictures are amazing! just beautiful! love your blog so much!

That last photo is so fun (all of them are wonderful, really). I wish my hair didn’t just, kind of…ruffle, when the wind’s in it.
woop! gorgeous photos and What an Immense interview missy! 😀
