Faux Real!

I can feel the rash coming on but I'll wear a grandpa collar shirt if I have to to enable me to wear these pieces by FAUX/real, a jewellery label that I've only recently been turned onto.  There's an element of found objects in it but the components have been presented not in a ramshackle bung-em-all-together manner but in sharp plastic boxes and in straight lines that feel to me like a futuristic re-interpretation of art deco.  I want to take them apart and place them on heavily embellished t-shirts or dresses or wear them in multiple strands over something very plain to amplify the boxiness of the pieces, like carrying a modern treasure chest around your neck.  Their slightly more delicate pieces are sold by Seven New York.  This collection I believe might be a previous one but I'm hoping that they'll reconsider and continue going down this chunky box path…

  1. Oh, whilst reading the title, I immediately thought of Tom Binns ‘Faux Real’ collection, clearly different! 🙂

  2. I am head over heels in love with those! They are just so pleasing to they eye, but not in a predictable or boring way at all.
