>> It's Education Day here at Graduate Fashion Week and many quizzical looking teen has walked past my stand thinking "Errr…what the fuck is this?  Where's the free goody bag?".  Oh well, nonetheless, I've been snapping some teens (between 14-19 yrs I believe…) around the stands… just because the first girl here spurred me to seek them out… didn't quite capture the amazingness of her pom pom headpiece and face embellishments…

  1. ::sigh:: Oh, to be 18 again. I think teenagers everywhere have so much more freedom and leeway to express themselves than they did when I was that age. I envy them their awareness and confidence.

  2. I’m loving the third outfit from the bottom! And I’m wearing the same jeans as the girl in the first picture. They’re very comfy.

  3. dang these people are 14-19year olds? why is it that my fellow peers always look at least 10 years older than me… hate being the one who always looks like they’re 12 years old…
love the first girl. wondering if she diy-ed that ruffled creation…

  4. Love the second outfit!! Like me when I was 17 and going for “DIY destruction on Chanel chic”. First girl I’ve seen other than me to wear New Rock-esque boots who isn’t a goth! Big respect! x

  5. The last photo is incredible, I want to make my younger brother dress exactly like that from now on!

  6. what fun! cool pics…the second one’s definitely my fave look; her shoes are completely insane!
reminds me of my teenage years. i must say, i really had an unique style going on…due in part to rarely having a clothing budget, so i was constantly deconstructing hand-me-downs and digging through my mom’s vintage 60s clothes and jewelry. it was a great time of creativity and resourcefulness borne of necessity (limited funds) and desire to be different!

  7. They’re so experimental! That’s great! There’s so much clone dressing going on these days, it’s nice to see some variety.

  8. I was there today, Although im only 19 i felt like an old lady with all the 14-16 year olds, amongst the hoards of topshop clad teens there were some real gems, i saw some really unique outfits (probally helped by the fact there was a £300 prize for best dressed) but it was really interesting to see the gala show and you in your bubble! x

  9. I want to be there! The 4th girl’s hair is amazing and omigosh that dude is STELLAR!

  10. love the guy in the last photo! Haha such an adorable outfit 😀

  11. meh. The only one I think is interesting is the girl with the crazy creepers (perhaps they aren’t creepers at that height). These people stand out, but I don’t find them especially well dressed and with the abundance of street style, I think people can conflate the two. Being noticable in a crowd for wearing a trend in an extreme way isn’t necessarily stylish. Certainly, when one is true to one’s personal style it can be, but I would rather see someone wearing a more ‘mainstream’ outfit, with interesting accessories or better fits. Some of these looks just feel forced, imo.

  12. Love the last outfit.
It was nice meeting you last night, hope you had a good time! You’re on the blog, check it out.
    xx-LJ from SOS!

  13. Love the second photo. Look at her shoes, killer! lol Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend.;D

  14. girl in the green jacket is really cute, I share her kinda messy multicoloured layers look. Loving the done-up-wrong buttons!
Girl in the shorts scares me with her long thin arms and legs. I know she’s young but I can’t help being freaked out, don’t her arms look twice as long as they should? Or is it just me? 😮
I love street-style type shots, nice to see them on here Susie 🙂

  15. omg! thanks g I passed these teenage years without any harm! If I had to go back, i’d join the last two guys to laugh about the first ones! but well, who am i to judge, my teenage pics are probably even more scary with doc martens shoes, glitter top and orange levi’s 501. brrrhhhh….

  16. I love these street style shots, especially the ones with the girl in the jacket with the belt. Just been in louisiana and they have the best t-shirts in forever 21 defo worth a visit. Also saw a load of hair and beauty products in walmart that are normally sold in professional salon. Check it out at http://www.salonbusiness.co.uk

  18. I was a complete fashion disaster when i was at school, and only sort of got the hang of fashion a year ago, i.e. when i started Uni.

  19. i was there and seen you in the wee bubble thing but didnt know what to say to you?…. plus you looked busy! and i didnt wanna disturb!
the first girl is in my college!
we were on a college trip from glasgow.
the fashion show was amazing! 🙂
    loved it :):):)

  20. Please can you make arrangments to go next year please! Because I was meant to go as a class next year but the school cancelled due to the trip not being ‘educational’ so that means I have to bunk of school and go with my mother next year. You are a muse to me and I’m an apsiring hatue couture designer, I already know which university I want to go to and I’m only 14. Please again, thankyou! 🙂 x

  21. I was working at the press office the whole week- had a great spot on the front desk for people watching.
Although unfortunately I have to say I agree with Meg. I spotted all these people and they certainly did stand out, but to me most of them felt slightly forced and unnatural.

  22. The girl with the pompom headpiece was at Cardonald College’s end of year fashion show in Glasgow a few weeks ago. I thought she looked amazing with what looked like a bag of knitting on her head and took a pic for my blog, but didn’t think to ask what she did! Darn it! (pun intended)

  23. the first girl’s my friend!
she does fashion at cardonald and she made that jacket, not sure who made her pompoms, maybe her.
and yeah susie he makeup was amazing that night.
