I'm sleeping in an unhealthily light way these days and as I nodded off a little on the sofa after resizing these images and uploading them onto the post, I wafted into a half-dream, half-imagining of a hat that would suddenly start growing, spurting extensions that would form a garment. I think I also had Emilie Pirlot's work (4th year student from this year's crop of Antwerp grads beautifully captured by Sonny Vandevelde) in mind when this vision occurred as clearly, I lack the imagination for something to just appear without cause or origin and because my brain is at present, a hazardous place where images seen on the internet overlap and blur into an unrecognisable state.
The reason for the hats blooming into garments in my head is all down to Camille Roman of Tour de Force presenting us with more hints that from her extravagant detail-heavy headwear, she's coming at us with matching attire. Here are instances where matchy-matchy is no bad thing because OF COURSE it makes sense to wear the turqouise satin petals on both the head and on a skirt. In fact I'd devise special garment bags so that the hat and dress/skirt are together all the time just to drum it into me that at all times, both.must.be.worn.together. Now I'm looking at my own Tour de Force headpiece and wondering why my bottom half is severely lacking in true blue rounded velvet/satin petals.
love your blue hat! and the shoes in the last picture are insane
and i agree, although the hat still looks good on its own, there’s an extra “umph” when it’s paired whttp://fashionhandglide.blogspot.comith the skirt
Ahhhh that headpiece was totally MADE for you. Looking amazing, Susie.
these hats are gorgeous! i think petite hats like these are always paired best with outfits that have the same detail, but even without, they add finesse to a plain outfit.
btw, love the tiny bow detail on your hat!
Do you have the blue, hat-looking skirt, too? You should have one ๐
