>> This is just a note of self-satisfaction really… If I DIDN'T complete the slight alteration on these shoes after Eugene and Boris from EVSR added the extra inch of platform to the shoes, then I'd be the laziest bum there is because all I did was bung some rope trim on with E6000 glue (at the advice of Angie…)…
I may be DIY lazy these days but this was just a finishing touch doddle… yeah, that's me. Leave all the hard nitty gritty work to others and I'll just go and put the superfluous bow on top…
And a wee note… which sort of both saddens and annoys me… M&J Trim in New York does beat many of our haberdasheries in London (not counting the tucked away wholesalers…). It lacks the charm of VV Rouleaux or MacCulloch & Wallis but in breadth of stock and variety, it's extraordinarily well stocked. I bought a plethora of straw options which I don't need now but they'll find a home somewhere else…
It is the superfluous bow on top that makes all the difference!
I love M&J in NY! I walked past when I was in the city with friends and we just had to go in! Love the end result, those shoes are fantastic!
Ooh! They came out great! Now those, are the PERFECT summer shoe.
job well done!

What a wicked DIY! LOVE the shoes!!!
xx
I am so jealous! Our sewing stores here are seriously lacking in options..
The shoes look great. I love MacCulloch & Wallis and try to go there anytime I’m in London, the customer service is hilariously bad though….reminds me of a haberdashery version of Faulty Towers!

This seems quick and easy and it is such a Spring shoe! Why did you decide on red white and blue? It would be awesome to come up to NY to say hello but finals are approaching.
Oooh, I love these! *wants*
What an amazing job…I absolutely love these. Did I miss where they’re from?
ah yes, going into M&J Trim is always like walking into a grocery store when you’re hungry. before you know it you’ve got $50 worth of stuff you never knew you needed for d.i.y. projects that never materialize…
A-mazing. x
They look much comfortable.. perfect for summer indeed.
