Aussie Filler

>> I've been asked "Did I pack anything special for Australian Fashion Week?" quite a bit since I got here.  I could have been nonchalant and "effortless" and said "No, I just threw a load of crap into my suitcase and off I went…" (actually some bits of crap did come along with me…) but no, I cannot tell a lie.  I was keen on wearing some Aussie/Kiwi-bred designers not for the sake of being here but because I think the strength of a lot of Aussie designers is that it's stuff that you'd REALLY wear.  Like I said beforehand, never have I seen so many people who say turn up to a Romance was Born show wearing…  Romance was Born.  So why should I miss out on the local-fashion-supporting fun even if I am just a "silly pom"…?

No Street Peeper pic of this outfit as Phil deleted some photos by accident… this image is from The Vine

No Aussie/NZ designers in this outfit but I have since worn a few more Aussie/NZ treats that alas have no photograph proof because Phil jetted off to Tokyo.

Must of attracted a lot of attention in Sydney 🙂
Phil is a great photographer too.
I like your Luella shoes in the last picture…

  3. Love that Tina Kalivas harness in the top pic. I think Australia would be totally happy to adopt you – nothing ‘silly pom’ about style like yours!!

  4. I adore the Tina Kalivas jacket, and you know, I didn’t think I liked the flares in the Ellery show, but on you, they look great! It actually looks like a fishtail skirt 🙂

  5. My gosh, your style is amazing, I love how you put things together!! So inspiring! I especially like the first ensemble. Glad you enjoyed the shows here in Australia, it’s been interesting reading your appraisals.

  6. Wow, I really like all your outfits, specially the third one.

  8. Looking beautiful as always.. I can’t believe you are here in Sydney, would have loved to have spotted you around the city but unfortunately I have been at uni instead of wandering around fashion-type places 🙁
Hope you have been enjoying your stay!

  9. Look # 2 is my favourite. The others are fantastically crazy as well though! You’re giving me some amazing ideas of how to combine that kimono! <3

  10. gosh, i really like that blazer you’re so in love with.
It has sort of an 80s feel but it doesn’t quite go there.
Low key 80s, maybe? Either way, I’d rock it with now apologies. Also love the Romance Was Born top and shorts ensemble. You look adorable!

  11. I really love the last look. Probably has to do with the smile on your face. But most likely I am just in love with Yokoo’s work.

  12. Love love love your style and outfits!!!! Especially the third one with the tina kalivas jacket! Jealous! >_<

  13. It’s so true… Aussie designers do make a lot of wearable clothing… sure the designs may not go to the extremes in testing boundaries but they certainly know how to make a nice clean cut garment. Alpha 60 is one of my faves. aw! all ur photos are making me homesick. I do love living in london though… just wish home was a bit closer.
