Corrie

>> Jewellery designer Corrie Williamson, who designed the above necklace for Cooperative Designs seems to have a design doppelganger based in Tel Aviv.  Me thinks it's pure coincidence that designer Itai Mintz who has a label Dario's Jewellery has some of that metal, plastic and wood elemental mix in his new S/S 11 collection which I checked out today in Berlin's Projekt Galerie space.  The world needs more wood/plastic/metal mixing anyway.  Dario's was part of a Tel Aviv showroom that had a whole roster of designers with them including Gal Stern whose fish scale printed tights have been doing the blogger rounds in recent months.  Dario's jewellery tends to focus on the graphic and from this particular collection, I quite like his enlarged pieces that are more like neckplates than necklaces, enhanced by the addition of chains.  Jewellery doppelganging aside, I realised that this is one of a handful of Tel Aviv fashion mentions on the blog which makes me think that there probably needs to be a more in depth investigation of the Israeli fashion scene…
