Getting Skinned

>> I knew my penchant for loud prints was well and truly known when I looked at the rail that someone on a magazine shoot had pulled out for me – florals, geometric prints, colours and more florals courtesy of the usual suspects.  But hey… I err… have depth and complexity to me… I'm WELL deep!  I don't just do colourful prints… I do muted ones too, a group of which I have gathered up here using my Matalan suitcase as a background (you laugh at my ¬£25 suitcase but it's sturdy as hell and feather light).  Actually whilst I say muted, what I really mean is that they're not prints that have had the rainbow treatment and have a bit of 'animal' about them.  Not 'animal' enough to be called realistic but 'animal' enough for me, the person who used to swear off animal print after one too many hugs from aunts who wore too much perfume, a leopard print chiffon blouse and loved to probe into your school grades.  I also just realised that on the day I leave, ALL of this stuff might be on display at once when I go to the airport.  Thank god I'm flying Virgin – they'll appreciate an outfit fit for a night out in Essex's finest no?  BA?  Delta?  Forget about it…

  2. Haha, yes, I’m sure they’ll appreciate these. Right now, I’m also doing an ‘almost animal print’, but I’m seriously considering switching to a ‘realistic animal print’ with a leopard coat. Too much? Already mainstream? we’ll see! Anyhow I’m rambling, you have a safe journey!

  3. The shoes are perfect for the aching toe! Buggers, I think I’m a bit late for the lifestream… Wishing you all the best, Susie. I’m sure you’ll be wonderful!

  4. I really love these boots! I miss my Dr. Martens which met their untimely demise circa 1997 when my late Weimeraner, Zoe, ate them. Wholly and completely. For lunch. I think I was more concerned about my shoes than my dog? Silly fashion-obsessed me! (only kidding about the last part)

  5. Oh Susie, why aren’t you half a size/a size bigger in feet so that I can steal those boots? I bloody love them, they feel just the right amount of 90s.
I actually dreamt about a faux fur topshop coat last month. Think I might have to give in and go with animal print.

  6. You are the prints queen (which is not to pigeonhole – you’re the queen of pretty much everything really!)
