The cuff to the left basically sums up the point of the post but in jewellery form. It’s your average pyramid stud but wrapped up in a bow and presented to us in it’s pretties form. Like a slob who has to dress up for tea with the grandparents.
In my interview with the lovely Jennine of The Coveted, I spoke of wanting to seek out gigantic studs a la Givenchy and pointing out excitedly at the speed bump pyramid studs on the roads as a style inspiration (much to the sniggers of those walking by). I’m still seeking for studs as big as my face but if I don’t ever come across them, incorporating Made Her Think’s stud offerings would be lovely indeed.
Designer Meridith Kahn who is an FIT grad likes to see the beauty in objects that are thought of in the opposite way. Her latest collection sees studs decked outIn these juicy colours and in an unoffensive resin. I love how the form of the stud is concentrated on so that you banish away that image of emo rocker jewellery.

Rings available here.

Aloha Rag have picked up the stud loving and also stock a selection of Made Her Think. Again, resin seems to make to enhance the shape of the beauty of a stud rather than its aggressiveness.
In the way that Meridith has pared down the stud to a form as opposed to something that has its connontations and baggage, I’d love to wear one or two (not in the load em’ up ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’ style) over pristine opera gloves with a selection of dresses from Mary Moore Vintage. Something Dior ‘New Look’ 1947-esque. It sounds like bewildering but I’m all for not being swept up into a cliched, themed look and Made You Think’s stud bracelets and rings would invite the beadiest of stares. A grandmother might look over your outfit approvingly but raise her eyebrows at your hands.

Those rings are lovely. I think I’d wear a few of them on one hand!
I recently bought a pink studded cuff and I love it to bits. Kind of goes against the grain a bit.
I’m loving this trend. I love mixing tough and girly, or just when things have an unexpected twist.
i don’t quite like the stock that aloha rag carries (the beads in btwn i think are what ruins them for me) as much as i do the new pieces. they’re great because i’d rather wear these than all the pyramid belts, bracelets and my leather studded jacket, all which i wore when i was very punk but refuse to wear now because everyone in the world has pyramid spikes on.
i love the cuffs…
and thank you for interviewing… it was such a delight!
