MisShapes

Clothes are pliable – a lot like Fimo (if you were very skilled) or the basic Play Dough.  Doing things like belting them up, unzipping things, wearing them not for their original purpose and adding things can change their dimensions and the way they sit on you.  They don’t really need to be worn in one strict way if you play around a bit.  Which is exactly what I intend to do in those cold winter nights with the help of my new tripod (yes I’m a slow moo who hasn’t bought one until now).  The nights are drawing in and with the lack of light, unfortunately poo poo flash photography with a tripod will have to suffice.  I’m very much into manipulating clothing at the moment.  The party MisShapes may be over for now, but I’ll have a riot doing doing some MisShaping in my wardrobe…

  1. The big X over your face just seems so brutal and harsh… be proud of your lovely face… and anyways we already know what you look like, come on, don’t hide from us, you’re adorable!

  2. why do you have the “x’s” over your face? is it because you dont like the way you look, like you said in that previous post, or are you are really into internet safety?

  3. Am I right in thinking that’s you over on Cafe Mode doing things with a bottle of Chanel perfume and some latex? If so, I am very jealous and rather curious…

  4. that balenciaga coat is gorgeous! in fact, i really love how you’ve put that first outfit together

  5. Are those all those famous mags that you’ve collected over the years, on those shelves? 🙂

  6. Hebden: More about that later….
Heather: Yup…there’s a scary amount at my parents house too…I can’t keep so many at my small apartment…
The big X is to cover my severely ill/sweaty/unmade-up face. I was actually heaving inbetween shots…. I’ve not been very well I’m afraid….

  7. more to the point, Susie, did you manage to get that gorgeous purple Preen dress at Topshop???

  8. Forget about the clothes – I’m in nostalgic mode for Fimo!
(But I think the crosses were a bit harsh too. What about a blocked-in circle instead? More coverage of an ill face but would look a lot less self-loathing!)

  9. Love the first pic! The neon pink leggings are fierce as well as the belt. The x on the face is quite unnecessary. You should have just blurred them or something….

  10. LOVE the outfits… but as others have said, why the X! I mean, it looks kind of cool but are you really that self-consious? You’re gorgeous, Susie!

  11. Love Love the outfits. Never considered the belt around the knees. But the cross of the face? I wounder, can you get away with it as an editorial-esque strive or is it beeming with unfounded self consiousness?
