Where has all my stuff gone?

I’m 100% committed to downsizing for a while so my search for clutches goes on and began with Erva and has surprisingly turned to Kurt Geiger.  Now, for some reason, their prices of late have been hiked up to eyebrow-raising proportions.  These clutches at ¬£230 isn’t exactly what you would call high-street (even though Kurt Geiger are usually classified as thus…… ).

But in these bizarre retail times when you don’t know whether a store wants to be more high-brow, high-fashion, high-lux…. I can’t get too quizzical about it all.  They have thrown in a reassurance that Swarovski crystals are being used which I guess is supposed to say ‘Hey….this is worth ¬£230!  Hand over your credit card now!’.  I may not be convinced by the price but….

…the shiny acrylic… the structured way the crystals are placed making a controlled and measured level of bling…the overall slickness of it…

I had a surreal dream of having tiny box clutches (kind of like snuff boxes) adorning my head as I was walking down the street.  The bijoux qualities of these Kurt Geiger clutches almost compels me enough to try wearing a clutch on my head as some kind of a head installation.

Before you condem me to complete loopy-land, I’ll add a practical note that I have successfully on many occasions been able to survive on just carrying the following without having a drama queen panic attack…(forgot to chuck in the Oyster card but you get the picture…)….

Looking forward to having days of not having my outfit obscured by my Camilla Staerk HUUUUUGE oversized leather tote which I have been lugging around (seriously…that bag is the size of two me’s…TWO!).

  1. What the hell is the deal with KG prices now?? Shocking! I go in every once and while just to grimace and shake my head in disgust at the Fashionista range prices. Then I leave.

  2. Reiss have something very similar at the momment for about ¬£40 (I don’t remember exactly) – they are smaller, but still really gorgeous!

  3. Reiss are coming out with some nice things! Must have a look…

Yeah…what IS up with Kurt Geiger’s hideous prices?

  4. those clutches look like those plastic pencil boxes that held all my school supplies in elementary school. I smell a diy and the savings of ¬£230…

  5. There is an Australian company which makes some cool accessories called Mimco and they have been making some great acrylic clutches for a few years now. and with your lovely strong pound they would be super cheap!
