I think the blogosphere is really FEELING the Jean Pierre Braganza SS08 collection ‘Convincementavia’ today but I could not resist and go with the flow, especially since I shortchanged you guys when I posted about Braganza’s presentation during LFW at the Two See store but had no pics to show (stupid Canon camera battery…).
Convincementavia may be a Latin derivative/made-up word but the meaning is clear. Without sounding too cheesy, it didn’t take much for the collection to ‘Convince’ me. As I said before, without a doubt, one of Braganza’s best collections to date.
Along with Jens Laugesen and Preen, Jean Pierre Braganza is one of those tried and tested designers that are in my ‘buy on a regular basis whenever I can’ roster. I’m not writing about them for the sake of seeing their superb images but quite literally, it’s because they are very ‘me’ and I can just close my eyes and pick out a piece and be sure that they are right for me. I have a dress and some black skinny trousers from Jean Pierre Braganza that come out again and again and have withstood time because they belong to the category of ‘Susie-will-never-tire-of-these’. So I guess it’s a little pointless discussing seasonality and comparison of collections with Jean Pierre Braganza as I’m pretty much there every season waving the support flag. The fit, the cut, the way they look on me – I don’t call many things fail-safe but if there is an Apple Mac equivalent of clothes, JPB would bit it.
I’d also gladly be a Jean Pierre Braganza label-whore and in my imaginary 12 hour day, a SS08 JPB ensemble would suit each hour. Obviously, I would need some sort of clothes teleporting changing device to enable such a day (that day will come, oh yes, oh yes…) but basically every ensemble serves the purpose of the course of the day exceedingly well. I don’t advise head to toe labelling but when there is enough variation within the collection and interest in both colours, fabrics, shapes and cuts (the images just don’t do the collection justice as in person, the textures really come to life!)…. well, 12 hours is not enough for a JPB-packed day…
The menswear is equally varied and of interest but more likely to induce guys to pick out one or two pieces as opposed to my slightly obsessed head to toe looks. I don’t know what sort of a day you guys have in mind but by all means, pick an ensemble for your imaginery JPB days…
I know I know, I have broken the unspoke rule of wearing head to toe in the same labels. This is a complete one-off though… taking the ensembles apart and mixing and matching is perfectly fine. I’m just a tad obsessed. I wonder who else in the blogosphere will crumble to the charms of JPB?

Is… that a man?
hah, that man looks really miserable.
but the clothes are naaaaiiice.
I wish Braganza would be the official sponsor of my life.
