>>I have just been informed by a reader that my blog is causing her Firefox browser to crash and burn. I’m guessing my musical/gif antics might be the cause of this. However, I have tested this on my Firefox and everything seems A-ok. If anyone else is having this problem, please do let me know so I can use my wizardy tech skills to solve it (or consult Google in a frantic panic….).

Mine crashed and burned too when I went to your home page, but this page is fine. I think it’s your sound files rather than the gifs, but I didn’t get long enough to see it to figure out for sure.
If it’s not that, you might have some javascript issues going on. Sometimes banner ads cause problems or there could be a conflict somewhere.
Ok, just to confirm. It is something in that post. I tried visiting it alone and FF crashed again. It loaded the first three mp3’s, got stuck on the last two, and then crashed. The gifs seemed ok though.
Oh gosh… why is it doing that? I must investigate…
I’m afraid there might be an issue with your Plugins.. have you got the latest Quicktime plugin? If not, that might cause the crash…. I seem to have encountered a lot of FF users saying their browser crashes when there are lots of plugins which that page has…. in which case, I can’t suggest anything else except to use IE….
Works fine for me with Firefox!
It works fine with my Firefox!
Yep, plugins are up to date. It could very well be a quicktime issue though and not anything wrong with your page.
I’ve always used firefox in my laptop and checked your blog in different countries(Spain, Colombia, France) and it has worked just fine for me, never had a problem.
My firefox is also ok.
Thanks so much for getting back to me! Oh well…there’s nothing I can do except hope for the best!
The site’s all fine in Firefox here too…. (on Mac OSX)
(I did have to update Firefox to the latest version last week though as it kept crashing, esp. when sound files were involved)
x
yep, me too… i’m way too addicted to the built in spell check NOT to use firefox.
🙂
you’re all good.
Mine is working just fine, firefox is the best. My blogg tho seams to be diffrent in firefox and IE, you know why? (replie in my blog, if u have time, thanks!)
mine is dandy too.
i’m sorry to say my firefox crashes every time i open your blog. then i open it again and it’s fine. I don’t know what the problem is, but can i give you an advice? try posting your images in a smaller resolution, like let’s say width 300 and hight 400 and then you upload the original image and you just link it to the small one. so when people open you blog, it will take less time for everything to load, but they also can see everything larger by clicking on it. also, try having fewer posts show up, like about 4 or 5, on the first page. it’s all for the best, believe me!
my web designer boyfriend said these were understated rules, and he is right; the site/blog loads easier and it won’t crash any browser down. trust me 🙂
hope it helped!
