I really should be gulping a bit at this flyer seeing as I was scared shitless of images of Rasputin when I first learnt Russian history. However, having been in love with JW Anderson’s previous work and knowing his tendancy to turn to the macabre, the sinister and his love of mythical/historical/literary characters, I’m just damn intrigued and curious as to upcoming collection. Who would have thought I would be so teased by an image of Rasputin?
Ra-ra-rasputin!

Rasputin has always scared the hell out of me
He was supposedly a very smelly dude. Just sayin’.
Absolutely fearsome! I’ve always been perplexed by his prediction of his own murder. And also revolted by his rather coarse sexual appetites.
But this is fashion, not history, so yes, we wait in anticipation!
Rasputin is the most frightening figure in history to me. Reading a detailed history of him at a younger age nearly gave me nightmares and I never finished the book.
Try listening to the Boney M song ‘Rasputin’ , it’s catchy (but so corny)…I read plenty about him, but he didn’t give me nightmares until I watched the animated Anastasia movie (even though I was thirteen by then!).
Ooh!
– A necklace woven of the finest and most brackish beard hair!
– A clutch bag that can cure haemophilia!
– Poisoned cakes at the press launch!
Susie, you got me obsessed with JW Anderson the last time you blogged about him. I am beyond excited.
Also — did you know that Rasputin’s daughter became a dancer and a tiger trainer? She’s the real fashion icon: lady could wear a hat. God bless wikipedia
Love,
Becky.
I love ‘Rasputin’ by Boney M!
Have you ever seen “Anastasia”, the Walt Disney cartoon? I prefer that Rasputin!
Hi, I m an Italian girl, I read about you and your blog on Glamour. You said that this is the nineties’ season. Not maybe eighties? Or both? I’m making a research about the calculator-wristwatch by Casio (do you remember?)…I would like to underline its importance in fashion in this year…What do you think about it?
I’ll be thankful of your e-mail answer, however, nice to know you!
Excuse me, but I didn’t pay much attention at English lesson at school…
i remember those glass bauble necklaces so i’m curious to see what he will come up with this time.
i have just given you the thinking blogger award. i know you’re already received it but one more never hurt anyone 🙂
Did you know that one of Rasputin’s assassins set up a successful fashion house in 1920s America? This blog has the story:
