It seems that PPQ is up for offering us mere mortals something on the affordable side with their recent ranges for Oli.co.uk (I’m awaiting for the sale to nab this stuff….) and now their latest collaboration with illustrator Hannah Bays. Hannah Bays graduated from LCP and created single covers for Babyshambles which is how she met Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker, the duo behind PPQ as they released Babyshambles’ first single through their record label. I love the distressed, dishevelled and slightly dark qualities of Bays’ illustrations and those qualities have been applied to six Sixties vampish pin-up pen and ink illustrations which PPQ have commissioned Hannah to do. The exhibition of the illustrations is now open for a month at the PPQ store in Mayfair and though I didn’t make it to the exhibition opening on Tuesday night, I will be picking up a t-shirt dress with a girl sexily (not sluttily!) clad in striped stockings. The illustrations have been printed onto t-shirts and also tote bags and are available now in-store at a price of ¬£29.50.
On a separate note, Hannah Bays’ pic makes me want to make an oversized velvet bow tie to wear pronto with a silvery oversized man’s dress shirt that I found in a charity shop.

the pictures are interesting! and hannah bays looks interesting too! i like her haircut ^^
i dont usually buy/wear-shirts, but these are pretty cool and i think i might ask for one for my birthday:)
xx
Aah I want one so badly, are they only available in store in london? Do u know if there is anywhere you can get them online?
i really enjoy these ultra femme prints, even though they necessarily invite ‘the male gaze’…
One of those illustrations reminds me very much of the Leroy Neiman Femlin.
For those who never stole a glance at Dad’s Playboy, the Femlin was Playboy’s avatar. It was a very hip piece of sixties iconography.
I love that this artist is working with the same type of concept, although with a completely different stroke.
I went to see these at lunch time today, there beautiful drawings but I wish they could have been displayed better than big pieces of paper stuck on the wall, frames would have made all the difference… I was tempted to buy a t-shirt I guess I better make up my mind before they sell out!
She, and her work, are very beautiful.
I like the style of those illustrations, but I’m not dead keen on wearing a naked girl on my front!
I wish I looked like the striped stockinged girl…
