I know I don’t usually post breaking fashion news (namely, I can’t be bothered to fork out for a WWD subscription!). But when I heard about this, I just HAD to voice out my cry of surprise and jubilation!
TWO FOR TOP?: Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo may be the next player in the high-low shuffle. "[Kawakubo] contacted us to say how much she liked the Topshop Unique fall/winter collection that she’d seen online, and to say she may be interested in some sort of future collaboration — though nothing’s fixed," a Topshop spokesman said on Tuesday.

Hardcore CdG fans will probably be mortified if this is indeed true but I’m not so snotty as to say that Rei shouldn’t break into the mainstream with a high-low collection. In any case Topshop’s designer collaborations are not anything like the H&M ones. They’re very low profile, very limited and they’re usually very succinct. Jens Laugesen and Peter Jensen, both quite forward-thinking in their approach to design have designed very good collections for Topshop. All I can say is, ‘LET THIS BE TRUE!’.
thank you susie for the shoes! i love them, and again, they fit perfect! you are a wonderful little blogger. i’ll keep reading and telling more of my friends 🙂
